Processors Intel Haswell to Rival Accelerator NVIDIA Tesla

Intel Corporation has the intentions to introduce DDR4 memory into their server processors of Haswell series. The launch of such technological approach is planned for the 2014, however the developments in this sphere have already started. Intel’s server solutions will become a part of Grantley platform and the samples of their new series will allegedly be announced next autumn. The preview of new processors makes it clear that some of the chips will be distinguished by the increased heat generation performance which will reach 160 W.

Hence, 16-core processors Haswell-EP will rival parallel computing accelerator NVIDIA Tesla but not AMD server solutions. Intel is going to provide various working frequency options and options with different number of active cores. At the same time, TDP will fluctuate within ranges of 160, 145, 135, and 120 W. In its turn, accelerator NVIDIA Tesla, which is based on GK110 processor, consumes approximately 300 W.

Chassis CM Storm Trooper Review

Nowadays the differentiation of computer integration becomes more obvious. There is an accepted concept of ‘draught horses’ which are intended for the accomplishment of unpretentious assignments (for home use or office use), and high-end devices called to work miracles while working with diverse applications or playing 3D games. The first type of devices usually goes in standard integration without any foul-ups, but high-end models require more thorough approach towards the assembly.

Chassis is among those components which define the ‘filling’ of each individual computer, that is why, the selection of the appropriate item might take some time. CM Storm Trooper belongs to the chassis type which provides for the high-end computer integration. Moreover, this chassis is considered to be an ideal component for devices with high performance and solid high-temperature elements.

Small-Sized CPU Cooler Thermalright AXP-100 Review

Being an acknowledged leader in the segment of PC cooling systems, Thermalright never stops its improvement. The company always keeps pace with time, supplying its customers with only advanced and up-dated products. Following the latest tendencies towards the miniaturization in HTPC field, Thermalright took a decision to design a cooler for small-sized mini-ITX motherboards. As a result, all potential customers can now revel in a new compact cooler, codenamed AXP-100.

Design and Framework

CPU cooler AXP-100 features a horizontal framework, consisting of thin aluminum plates pieced by six copper heatpipes (6 mm each pipe). The whole construction is covered by a nickel surface. The heatpipes are folded smoothly and distributed across the heatsink area with 10 mm spacing; their edges are covered by ornamental caps with ‘Thermalright’ logo. Such configuration ensures utmost heat dissipation across the surface.

The implemented heatsink has got two-stage structure, …
