You've probably seen the modern TVs with dynamic backlight called Ambilight, developed by Philips. The essence of its work is to highlight the space behind the TV in different combinations of colours, depending on the events happening on the screen.



PaintPack vs Ambilight


A new development called PaintPack is presented. This model is intended to implement the same idea as the technology of Ambilight, but allows to «light around» any computer monitor. A device called PaintPack is a simpler version in a small box with ten cable-trains, which have bright LEDs at the ends. These LEDs are placed evenly around the perimeter of the back of the monitor, and provide illumination in accordance with what is happening at the moment on the screen. A new graphics card based on Radeon HD 7750 adapter is going to replenish the line of products developed by MSI. Codenamed MSI Radeon HD 7750 (R7750-1GD/OC), the card is based on AMD Cape Verde Pro GPU. Its nominal clock frequency has been increased from 800MHz to 830MHz index. The model accommodates 1GB of GDDR5 memory with 128-bit interface; its nominal frequency equals to 1125MHz, while its effective clock frequency equals to 4500MHz.

Nowadays HDD segment is represented by various products from various companies. However, with the development and release of ultrabooks, manufacturers directed their production to the hybrid-type drives. This resulted in the predominance of hybrid solutions in the market.



Recently Itel has advanced a motion to digress somehow from the production of hybrid drives and switch to the decrease of traditional HDDs dimensions to 5 mm in casing depth. According to the company's assumptions, such change could moderate the price for drives and provide the necessary volume capacity for ultrabooks.


Some manufacturers have already directed a part of their technological powers to the design of HDDs with 5 mm casings. Nevertheless, there appeared a couple of obstacles on their way: the necessity to stabilize data reading and writing activities, and increase of costs spent on drives' production.
