Preview of Intel Itanium 9500 Specifications

The Internet community is actively discussing new Intel's development, processors Poulson, that belongs to the tenth generation of Intel Itanium. All previous data about the upcoming product were vague and void of official proofs. Currently, the data are more ample and allow the community to study the future processor in more details. Thus, Intel Itanium 9500, codenamed Poulson, will be presented by four models the release of which is planned for early autumn.

The crystal of Poulson processor will consist of 3.1 billion transistors that are called to form eight computing cores. Each core counts up 89 million transistors and the pipeline width is doubled to twelve instructions. This way CPU developers implement more efficient approach towards transistor budget. Just for comparison purposes, Poulson's predecessor, Tukwila, counted 109 billion transistors per core.

To continue, Poulson CPUs will accommodate a couple of cache memory arrays, five channels of QPI bus, system …

Nanoxia Launches the Second Deep Silence Chassis

Nanoxia has announced its plans to start shipping a new chassis series, codenamed Deep Silence 2. The first generation of Deep Silence PC chassis was introduced more than 1.5 year ago, however, all devotees of German standards and reliability were looking forward to the next product designed by Nanoxia. Deep Silence 2 is a Mid-Tower casing which supports the motherboards of ATX, E-ATX, mini-ITX, and micro-ATX standards. The new product will be available in four color gamuts: black, white, silver (front panels) and absolutely white edition.

Chassis Deep Silence 2 is distinguished by the implementation of heightened sound-proof casing properties. Internal part of side panels is finished with a dedicated sound-proof material, while PSU and drive sections accommodate rubber pads which mitigate the noise or vibration. Thus, this model will be a perfect match for those customers who long for quiet operation of their desktop platforms. This enclosure is ready to house CPU coolers …

Company XFX is preparing Radeon HD 7970 GE with Double Dissipation cooler

American vendor XFX is about two weeks to release a Radeon 7970 Edition Double Dissipation (model code — FX-797G-TDF). It combines the capabilities of GPU Tahiti XT2 with a higher overclocking potential and the TDP, rather than at Tahiti XT, PCB reference design, but without a single phase power supply (6 +1), and the cooling system in the vaporizing chamber, an array of aluminum fins, PA plate (the same heatsink for the VRM and memory), as well as the two fans standard size 90 mm.

New model will get the recommended for the Radeon HD 7970 GE frequency ratio 1000/6000 MHz for core and chips GDDR5. The graphics chip will operate at 1050 MHz in the load. Recall that the “usual” HD 7970 was limited to regular frequencies 925/5500 MHz and did not support dynamic overclocking.

The configuration of video outputs is almost standard: from the five of DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI and 2x Mini DisplayPort for some reason excluded DVI-D. The additional power is supplied by one 8-pin and one …
