Zalman, a well-known manufacturer of CPU coolers, PC cases and graphics solutions, introduces three new graphics card models, codenamed GeForce GTX 600 D5 OC VF1500, GeForce GTX 660 Ti D5 VF1500 and GeForce GTX 660 Ti D5 OC VF1500. All three models are equipped with a brand two-slot VF1500 cooler. Its framework consists of four heatpipes which transfer heat from GPU surface to an aluminum heatsink. This heatsink is accompanied by a couple of 92 mm fans, the maximal rotational speed of which achieves 1500 RPM. If compared with a reference cooler, VF1500 reduces GPU operational temperature at 25 degrees (from 81 to 56 degrees), producing 10 dB less noise (26 dB vs 36 dB).



The first model is based on Nvidia GK106 processor, designed under 28 nm technological process. It is characterized by heightened clock frequencies: nominal 1006 MHz against reference 980 MHz, and dynamic 1059 MHz against reference 1033 MHz.

PaintPack vs Ambilight


A new development called PaintPack is presented. This model is intended to implement the same idea as the technology of Ambilight, but allows to «light around» any computer monitor. A device called PaintPack is a simpler version in a small box with ten cable-trains, which have bright LEDs at the ends. These LEDs are placed evenly around the perimeter of the back of the monitor, and provide illumination in accordance with what is happening at the moment on the screen. Right after the release of FM2-A75MA-P33 motherboard, MSI has taken a decision to design one more model for AMD Trinity platform. Codenamed MSI FM2-A85XMA-E35, a new model is based on a more efficient chipset – AMD A85X. This motherboard is a typical representative of entry-level solutions, though can boast a number of attractive facilities.



MSI FM2-A85XMA-E35 is developed in micro-ATX form-factor for Socket FM2 CPU sockets. The model is known to support AMD A and Athlon II processors. This board accommodates two DIMM slots for the installation of DDR3 memory modules, the overall volume of which can rise up to 32GB. The supported memory operating frequencies might vary: DDR3-1066 MHz, 1333MHz, 1600 MHz, 1866 MHz, and 2133 MHz. Power subsystem features a rather unpretentious framework and consists of five phases; thus, this model isn't intended for overclocking purposes.
