Toshiba is engaged in improving the existing hard drives in order to increase their capacity. Limited to several tens of terabytes, Japanese do not want to stop — they need at least 600 terabytes in a single 3.5-inch drive. To do this, Toshiba uses all the tools and opportunities, including temporary cooperation with companies, competitors, TDK, and Showa Denko KK.



The newly formed trio of producers focuses on the development of new technologies of recording information on magnetic media and improvement of existing methods. Alliance sees great prospective in the technology of the so-called «two-dimensional magnetic recording» (TDMR). It is experimental, but using, it is quite achievable to record density of 10 terabits per square inch, which thus gives the capacity of 600 terabytes in a single hard drive.


Of course, no one talks about the chances of such a capacious storage in the foreseeable future — Toshiba and its partners will have more than one year of research …

Corsair, an American supplier of RAM memory and SSD solutions, is mapping out the forthcoming release of three new DDR3 memory kits. All three kits will be delivered within the confines of Dominator Platinum series: CMD8GX3M2A2400C10, CMD32GX3M4A2400C10 and CMD32GX3M4A1866C9 models. The kits will be delivered with a lifetime warranty.



Memory modules, included in these kits, are equipped with DHX aluminum heatsinks and improved cooling technology, feature 56 mm height, and support Intel XMP overclocking profiles. Their optimal operational frequency is estimated at 1866 MHz and 2400 MHz.


Corsair CMD8GX3M2A2400C10 kit consists of two 4GB DDR3 modules (8GB overall capacity) and feature 1.65V nominal voltage index. The timings for the kit are shown as 10-12-12-31. Its framework accommodates white LED bar.


Four-channel Corsair CMD32GX3M4A2400C10 kit operates at 2400 MHz frequency. Its overall capacity equals to 32GB, while all other specifications are similar to the 8GB …

Nanoxia has announced its plans to start shipping a new chassis series, codenamed Deep Silence 2. The first generation of Deep Silence PC chassis was introduced more than 1.5 year ago, however, all devotees of German standards and reliability were looking forward to the next product designed by Nanoxia. Deep Silence 2 is a Mid-Tower casing which supports the motherboards of ATX, E-ATX, mini-ITX, and micro-ATX standards.
