HIS Boasts an Extraordinary R9 270X IceQ X2 Turbo Boost Clock Graphics Card

As an exclusive AMD’s partner, HIS has lately unveiled a new graphics card with an extraordinary design and unprecedented facilities. Codenamed R9 270X IceQ X2 Turbo Boost Clock, the model is characterized by an overclocked core frequency and the implementation of an efficient two-slot IceQ X2 cooler. The GPU is designed under Graphics Core Next architecture, supports the latest DirectX 11.2 technology and offers 2.5 times higher performance. WD Prepares Voluminous Re+ HDDs for Data Centers

Western Digital announces a new high-capacity 3.5-inch HDD for data centers. The WD Re+ will be available in versions of up to 6 TB. All of them are designed with power-saving ideas in mind; hence, their maximal power consumption index does not go above 6 W. The new-comer employs five-platter architecture and SATA 6 Gb/sec interface that guarantees the maximal efficiency level. Moreover, its MTBF index approximates 1.2 million hours on average workload index of 550 TB per year.

Qualcomm to Enter Into Contract with GlobalFoundries

Qualcomm, a world-known provider of chips for mobile gadgets, has entered into a contract with GlobalFoundries company with the intention to develop chips based on 28 nm technology. Such information has been voiced by an authoritative Chinese publication Commercial Times, referring to the reliable sources. It is presupposed that the manufacturer will start the first dispatches for Qualcomm in the end of this year. The previously voiced data claimed that Qualcomm had arranged orders of 28 nm chips from UMC with the similar dispatch dates.



The estimated reason for the cooperation with GlobalFoundries is the insufficient delivery of 28 nm chips by TSMC.
