Dell has taken a decisive step into the enlargement of its customer virtualization solutions and presented a new multi-user rack-mount workstation for the remote access Precision R5500. The new workstation is intended for customers who got used to employ 3D technologies in medicine, media, software development, engineering and research fields, and who require the support of several users simultaneously on a single workstation. This is the first certified Citrix solution for the triggering in multi-GPU mode with 4 graphics adaptors and Citrix software XenServer6.



The access to the efficient and high-end workstations Precision R5500 can be realized by means of devices with the integrated Citrix Receiver. Those devices include PCs, laptops, mobile devices and other gadgets. Sapphire Technology Ltd. is going to release a new graphics card on Tahiti LE chip. Codenamed Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition Toxic, the card is one of the first models to use the newest GPU, developed under 28 nm technological process. The suffix 'GHz Edition' in the model's name witnesses that the nominal GPU clock frequency exceeds the index of 1 GHz.



The core of Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition Toxic is based on Graphics Core Next architecture and contains 1536 current processors. The card's inventory involves 2GB of GDDR5 memory with 256-bit bus interface. The memory modules are known to operate at 6000 MHz frequency. GPU operational frequencies are still not clarified, but it's possible to assume that on activation of AMD PowerTune option the card will demonstrate some outstanding performance. Swiss manufacturer of cooling systems, Arctic Cooling, has recently released a new cooler developed specifically for graphic adapters from AMD. Earlier this year the company launched the cooling system which is compatible with graphic adapters from Nvidia developers. The new product, codenamed Accelero Hybrid 7970, distinguishes from its predecessor also by the foot of water block which is upgraded to be compatible with AMD HD 7900 series.



Cooling system Accelero Hybrid 7970 consists of two parts which boast as air, so water cooling standards. It is able to manage up to 320W of hot air. The water block is cooled down by the 120 mm fan which is able to achieve the speed in the measures of 400-1350 rpm.
