In nearly two years after the announcement of the hull Define R3, Fractal Design Company announced the release of its ideological successor. New, executed in the same minimalist style, has received the designation Define R4.



The hull is designed to install motherboard sizes ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ATX, and eight expansion cards. Define R4 design provides for two external 5.25-inch bay size, as well as ten internal, eight — to set the size 3.5-inch HDD, two — for the installation of SSD size 2.5 inches.


As the creators say, inside Define R4 can be used CPU coolers up to 170 cm, power supplies up to 270 cm, and graphics up to 295 or 430 mm (respectively, with basket for the HDD, and without it). A new graphics card of an average efficiency has appeared in the arsenal of HIS manufacturers. Codenamed HIS 7770 iCooler (H777FN1G), the card is targeted those gamers who would like to receive a dual effect: the possibility to play all up-dated games and to satisfy all other graphics requirements for a reasonable price.



Model 7770 iCooler is based on AMD Cape Verde TX GPU, developed under 28 nm technological process and built on Graphics Core Next micro-architecture. It involves ten computing blocks and 640 current processors. The processing unit is expected to operate at the reference 1000 MHz clock frequency. The integrated GPU is accompanied by 1GB of GDDR5 memory which employs 128 bus; its nominal clock frequency starts at 1125MHz, while its effective frequency might achieve the margin of 4500MHz.

AMD is a company known for the continual and elaborate work on the development and improvement of all product lines, as well as technological standards. Thus, the coming 2013 year is supposed to be portentous for the company in terms of the implementation of 28nm standards in their APU. AMD has recently voiced the plans for the change of the Trinity APU to a new model, codenamed Richland, and the transition to 28nm technological process.



The new APU, Richland, is presumably to be released in two versions: dual-core and quad-core. It will support a number of high-performance technologies, such as Blu-ray 3D, dual graphics, Open CL, AMD turbo core overclocking, and some others.
