NAS QNAP TS-469 Pro Review

Contemporary network storage units have already undergone the evolution era, and nowadays new emerging models do not differ so much from their predecessors. This basically touches upon external integration and major functional. Still, hardware and software layout is constantly changing, offering more advanced, more efficient, and more comprehensive facilities. QNAP has recently launched a series of four-disk stations, with TS-469 Pro model leading the series.

Design and Integration

NAS QNAP TS-469 Pro is based on a steel frame. The casing is made of dark aluminum, while the frontal panel is made of black plastic. The larger part of this panel features a bay for the HDD installation; HDD bay consists of metallic frames and external plastic straps. Right above the bay there is a block of two-array indicators, two control panels and eight LED lights signifying the work of each hard drive, general device status, network connection, USB connection, and eSATA connection.

PSD520 SSD-Drives from Transcend are Already in the Market

Transcend representatives has recently announced the launch of their new product 2.5-inch PSD520 SSD-drive. According to the company’s concept, PSD520 are destined to secure high performance showings as well as prolonged reliability. Such specifications were achieved due to the implementation of flash microchips with single-layer cell memory location (SLC). Those microchips are able to sustain up to a dozen times more rewriting cycles as compared with multi-layer cell microchips.

SLC microchips have an improved system of defects recovery which enables more efficient operation of the correction system. Moreover, SLC is distinguished by the lesser correlation of defects number per rewriting cycles; such peculiarity allows the correction system to identify the problem and to execute the recovery much faster. As a result, PSD520 drive manifests promising showings in start-up time, as well as the advanced system sensitivity and high data transfer rate which approximates up to 102 …

Transcend to Announce a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 SSD

Transcend Information, a leading designer of storage solutions, announces the launch of its new super high-speed SSD, codenamed ESD200. The drive employs the latest USB 3.0 interface of SuperSpeed generation and is distinguished by truly compact dimensions, providing for the most convenient utilization. The casing is void of movable parts and operates with minimum noise level. Besides, it's based on a set of flash chips and owns anti-heat, shockproof and anti-vibratory properties. The series will be introduced by models of 128GB and 256GB volume capacity.

The implementation of SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface ensures ten times faster data transfer speed, if compared with the previous USB 2.0 generation. On such conditions, Transcend ESD200 is capable to develop Read speed up to 260 Mb/sec and Write speed up to 225 Mb/sec. This implies that 4.7GB DVD drive full of different content will be copied for fifteen seconds only. However, a new SSD is backwards compatible with USB 2.0; so, …
