NZXT to Launch a New Line of Powerful PSUs

Developers from NZXT decided to revive a series of prime power supply units, codenamed HALE90, launched in 2010 by designing a new line of powerful units. The line has been entitled HALE90 V2 and includes three models of 850W, 1000W, and 1200W power. All three models are notable by the availability of 80Plus Gold certificate that verifies their high-performance and reliability.

Unlike the majority of similar products, HALE90 V2 are housed in casings of white color with black insertions that add some elegance to the overall design. The units are characterized by a totally modular cabling (including 24-pin ATX connector); this is called to dramatically simplify the accomplishment of individual wire sheath on modding. One of the peculiarities of this PSU line is rigid connection of the mainboard with the cable board, while the majority of rival PSUs employ flexible wires.

Voltage 12V generation is realized by means of a single rail. The platform is developed according to DC-DC converters scheme and features an amplified 5VSB power bus for the fast charging of various devices via USB ports. Cooling system is introduced by a single 135 mm fan based on a ball bearing rotor bracket. All the units support up-dated security technologies and options that save the system from 'emergency' operational conditions.

The senior model of 1200W is equipped with a sufficient amount of cables to provide power to four high-end graphics cards in 4-way SLI/4-way CrossFireX configurations. The model of 1000W can cope with three graphics adapters, while the junior model of 850W is estimated for the connection of two cards. Other specifications of HALE90 V2 series are listed below:
— standard: ATX 12V, EPS 12V;
— efficiency up to 90%;
— implementation of a patented MIA IC controller;
— employment of high-quality Japanese capacitors;
— active PFC;
— voltage ranges from 90V to 264V.
