Main-Line Monitor Samsung S24D590P Review

New-day PC monitors are called to boggle the imagination with advanced facilities and unbelievable effects. However, their price tag is way too high for average customers who long for a high-quality visual solution for their home offices at an affordable cost. Samsung has always managed to satisfy the needs of various customer audiences, so this time it elaborated S24D590P – an etalon version of main-line monitors.

Samsung S24D590P features the following specifications:

Framework Overview

The monitor under consideration boasts minimalist but striking design. Its frosting screen is set in thin frame and housed on an acute angle stand base. The frontal panel contains a logo and customizable led lighting; the user might customize it in a way to be active only while operation or when in standby mode only. Unfortunately, due to an unusual stand shape, it’s impossible to lift up and draw down the screen. Still, there is a possibility to change its pitch angle (from -1 degree forth to +15 degrees back).

All I/O sockets are located at the rear panel. Here one might find a pair of HDMI inputs, one analog D-Sub input, one 3.5 mm audio input, and a socket for the connection of PSU. Worse luck, but this monitor does not have fixtures for VESA bracket; hence, it’s unfeasible to hang it on the wall.

The rear panel also features a Power button combined with a switch. There are no other control keys, although a single key perfectly copes with all set tasks.

Menu and Visual Estimation

Monitor S24D590P boasts user-friendly interface with minimum sections. All menu transformations are realized thanks to the above mentioned switch. The first menu section contains all vital image settings, including brightness adjustment tools. It allows using Magic Bright and Magic Upscale modes; the first one features a set of image profiles, whereas the second one improves image accuracy in low resolutions.

This section also enables the adjustment of Overdrive option and black level on HDMI connection. The other section contains fine-tuning adjustments, such as color tints, gamut alignment, etc.

To continue, the model is able to demonstrate some decent visual results during operation (statement after test results). Color rendering does not rouse censures, elements in dark areas remain distinguishable. Nonetheless, the screen sometimes gives Glow effect (the transfer from black to violet color) on wide viewing angles; such a distortion might spoil image perception a bit.
