Foremay 2TB SSD: Reality for Industrial and Critical Systems

SSD segment has been characterized by a violent development from the very appearance of small-sized drives. Nonetheless, Foremay has managed to accelerate this development by announcing two new SSD lines housed in compact cases and featuring a truly striking capacity. About two years ago, the company released the models of 1TB capacity, but today it's claiming the coming release of models featuring 2TB capacity. Not all HDD products can nowadays boast such volumes, but Foremay was lucky to combine the size with capacity.



The first SSD line will be entitled SC199 and will serve the needs of critical applications. The second line is known to be codenamed TC166 and intended at industrial employment. All models are designed in 2.5-inch form-factor and employ SATA 6Gb/sec interface for the connection with various PC and computing systems.

Release of SSD Velox V70 with SATA III Interface from Silicon Power

Silicon Power, an established manufacturer of flash memory and solid-state drives, has announced the release of its 'fresh' SSD, codenamed Velox V70. The new series is developed in 2.5-inch form factor and based on SandForce SF-2281 controllers from LSI. According to the words of the company's press service, these SSDs are designated for the installation into desktop PCs, as well as laptops. The Velox V70 series includes models of 60, 120, 240, and 480 GB volume capacity.



Velox V70 casing is made of gold-color aluminum and goes in 100x69.9x9.4 mm dimensions. Connection to the PC is realized due to the integrated SATA 3.0 interface. This series is known to support TRIM (which is called to prolong the product's durability and optimize performance) and NCQ options, and employs Error Correction Code (ECC) technology for the efficient monitoring over the transmitted data and timely correction of errors.
