Multifunctional Monitor Dell P2314H Review
Dell has been one of the stakeholders in the visual solutions segment for a long time. Its updated ‘P’ series of monitors adds to the company’s merits, proving the high quality of provided products. The P2314H is the junior model within the lineup, featuring a number of advanced facilities that correspond to the up-to-date demands of exacting customers. It combines contemporary design and marvelous visual effects just to strike the imagination and facilitate day-to-day work.

The P2314H monitor comes in a stylish design with black-and-gray coating. Thanks to the advanced LED, the display is thin and elegant, whereas a multifunctional stand is quite bulky. The full weight of the model equals to 4.5 kg (3.34 kg without the stand). There is a possibility to use the display as an individual device; for this, one needs to unscrew the stand and fix the bracket. The entire case features matte coverage that does not reserve footprints or stains.
Rectangular base with rounded corners is made of plastic with hard coverage but its internal part is all about metal. Stability of the framework is the merit of six rubber feet. Cable management is realized due to a special notch in the central stand. One of the most advantageous features is the feasibility to use the display in portrait mode (Pivot option). Rear part of the monitor contains an info sticker, a power socket, four USB 2.0 ports, DVI-D, D-Sub and DisplayPort sockets.
Menu and Settings
Let’s proceed with the functional. Monitor management is realized with the help of four physical keys and one additional Power On/Off button with white LED. Each of the keys contains configurable options; in order to call the settings menu, it’s needful to click on one of them. Further on, the user is able to choose the required section. It’s feasible to choose between two pre-installed display modes, adjust brightness and contrast settings by default.
Main menu consists of some standard and a few atypical sections. The first section repeats the functions of a quick brightness and contrast adjustment. The differentiation lies only in the amount of options for the final result. The choice of a necessary video interface can be completed in Input Source tab. Color Settings tab allows for the choice of color format (RGB or YPbPr) and color settings reset. With the attempt to improve the image quality, one might activate Image Enhance parameter.
Display Settings section unveils image scaler and sharpness adjustment options. New Energy Settings section provides for the enabling of a power-saving mode (by reducing the brightness); it also empowers the tuning of power supply LED and USB ports. Menu Settings is all about language localization, display mode, menu transparency, as well as OSD timer alignment. Other Settings section enables the deactivation of DCC/CI interface and the activation of LCD Conditioning option that scans the display for broken pixels.
To continue, Factory Reset option allows for the reset of all settings to the factory ones. Service Menu gives an opportunity to monitor OverDrive array overclocking feature, although it’s impossible to keep it in Off mode, since right after the model goes to Standby mode, this feature is thrown off.
