Biostar Introduces a New Hi-Fi B85S3+ Motherboard for Audiophiles

Biostar is glad to introduce one more representative of Hi-Fi Series of motherboards – the Hi-Fi B85S3+. The model is developed in micro-ATX form-factor and is intended for budget-oriented audiophiles. The heart of the board is Intel B85 Express chipset that shows compatibility with Intel Core i3/i5/i7 CPUs (4th generation) for Socket LGA1150 with the TDP level of not more than 95W. Due to a rather compact design, the new-comer is an ideal solution for small-sized home PCs and multi-media centers.

The Hi-Fi B85S3+ takes use of 4-phase power supply subsystem. It employs high-quality capacitors with a solid electrolyte and chokes with shell-type mandrels. Memory consists of four slots for DDR3 modules (running at 1600 MHz) with the overall capacity of 32 GB. Expansion is provided by one PCI slot, two PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots and one PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot.

The Internet community is actively discussing new Intel's development, processors Poulson, that belongs to the tenth generation of Intel Itanium. All previous data about the upcoming product were vague and void of official proofs. Currently, the data are more ample and allow the community to study the future processor in more details. Thus, Intel Itanium 9500, codenamed Poulson, will be presented by four models the release of which is planned for early autumn.

The crystal of Poulson processor will consist of 3.1 billion transistors that are called to form eight computing cores. Each core counts up 89 million transistors and the pipeline width is doubled to twelve instructions. This way CPU developers implement more efficient approach towards transistor budget. Just for comparison purposes, Poulson's predecessor, Tukwila, counted 109 billion transistors per core.

Micron to Carry Out the Production of TLC Memory Next Year

Memory market, similar to other industries, undergoes certain changes and updates from time to time. Therefore, memory manufacturers are currently trying to comply their production with two major tendencies: considerable drop in demand for RAM, employed basically in desktop PCs, and simultaneous growth of demand for solid-state drives, employed in compact tablets and mobile devices. Besides, the latter is developed at lightning speed.

Micron, one of the leading memory manufacturers, feels like no one else all the changes and fluctuations in the market. Its quarterly reports witness about the relentless drop in demand for DRAM (9% drop at average) for the report period. At the same time, increase in SSD segment is estimated at 5% at average.
