Zotac Showcases Nano XS Nettops with Power-Saving Properties

Zotac is going to replenish its line of compact PC devices with two new nettops. To be precise, with two versions of a single model: ZBOX nano XS AD13 and ZBOX nano XS AD13 PLUS. Both versions feature 11x11 mm dimensions and are based on two-core AMD E2-1800 processors with the nominal clock frequency of 1.7 GHz. Similar to other ZBOX products, AD13 promotes for the wide functional facilities along with pocket-size dimensions. One of the peculiarities found in these products is a modified memory subsystem: instead of a traditional hard drive, Zotac implements a high-performance SSD with mSATA interface.



Models AD13 and AD13 PLUS employ AMD Hudson-M3L system logics, A68M chipset and AMD Brazos 2.0 platform. The implemented CPU secures the support of 64-bit OS and hardware virtualization, despite the belonging to ULV class. Both nettop variations are equipped with 2048MB of DDR3-1333 memory type. Small-Sized CPU Cooler Thermalright AXP-100 Review

Design and Framework


CPU cooler AXP-100 features a horizontal framework, consisting of thin aluminum plates pieced by six copper heatpipes (6 mm each pipe). The whole construction is covered by a nickel surface. The heatpipes are folded smoothly and distributed across the heatsink area with 10 mm spacing; their edges are covered by ornamental caps with ‘Thermalright’ logo. SilverStone Comes Out with Precision PS12 Chassis

The lineup of tower cases developed by SilverStone has been replenished by a new price-efficient solution, entitled Precision PS12. The model features 405x360x170 mm dimensions and is ready to accommodate small-sized motherboards (mini-ITX, micro-ATX) as well as four expansion cards. The chassis is made of high-quality plastic, supplemented by a fine-meshed metallic grid on the front panel.



Inside, there is a single rack for the installation of optical drives; it’s estimated for two 5.25-inch units. There is also space for 4x 3.5-inch drives and 1x 2.5-inch drive. Hence, there is little space for graphics adapters, the length of which should not exceed 358 mm. The layout is intended for 140-mm high CPU coolers & standard ATX PS/2 power supply units.


SilverStone Precision PS12 is shipped with a single preinstalled 120-mm fan (front panel). Additionally, it’s possible to include one 80-mm fan (front panel) and one 80-/92-mm fan (rear panel). Pricing is set at $45.
