Eurocom launches “superlaptop” Scorpius with two GeForce GTX 680M on board

Eurocom has long been designing laptops with powerful «stuffing» with the level of desktop PCs. Being a full replacement for the classic desktops, they still have a significant drawback — a lot of weight due to the use of high-end components and a massive cooling system.

The new creation of Canadian engineers is called the Scorpius. This laptop combines a 17.3-inch screen with a glossy or matte finish (available in both options) and a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, one of the top line of mobile processors Ivy Bridge (up to the Core i7-3920XM), the motherboard chipset HM77, four memory modules DDR3-1333/1600/1866 totaling up to 32 GB, one or two GeForce GTX 680M graphics card with 4 GB of GDDR5 on board (optional GeForce GTX 675M, Radeon HD 7970M, Quadro K3000M/K4000M/K5000M) and a maximum of 4 Drive: a pair of hard drives with SATA 6 Gb / s, optical drive and card mSATA SSD.

Among the other components of the Eurocom Scorpius distinguish the presence of 2.1-channel …

Greeting GT51CA Gaming Desktop from Asus

Asus has just unveiled another representative of ROG lineup – a powerful gaming desktop, entitled GT51CA. The greenhorn boasts an aggressive steel design, replenished by a 4-zone LED backlight. The case features 587x584x262 mm dimensions to fit any environment.

Asus ROG GT51CA comes with one of two available Intel Core CPUs: i5-6600K, running at 3.5/3.9 GHz frequency (4.3 GHz in OC mode), or i7-6700K, yielding 4.0/4.2 GHz frequency (4.6 GHz in OC mode). Both variations are targeting Intel Z170 platform. The CPU is supplemented by DDR4-2133 MHz RAM (16-64 GB capacity). During overclocking its clock frequency might be increased up to 2400-2800 MHz index.

This desktop allows for the integration of one out of 5 permissible graphics cards of Nvidia GeForce series: GTX 970 (GDDR5, 4 GB), …

The ARO-M14 Cooling System by Thermalright Has Went Out into the World

The Thermalright company has commercialized the ARO-M14 cooling system, designed for AMD Ryzen processors. The novelty got the shape of a standard tower cooler. It’s available in two versions differing in colour of the upper plate of a heatsink. The manufacturer claims, its product is able to disseminate up to 240 W of heat output.

The Thermalright ARO-M14 heatsink with the 140 x 115 x 162 mm dimensions weighs 720 g. The system features the copper nickel-plated base, six copper heat pipes (6 mm in diameter) and an array of aluminium fins.

The supply kit contains a 140 mm TY-147 fan, operating at the 300–1,300 rpm velocity. The propeller produces up to 73.6 CFM (125 m³/h) airflow at the ultimate 21 dBA noise level. The list of processing platforms supported includes AMD AM4 only.

One may purchase Thermalright ARO-M14 in many European stores for about €50.
