Let’s have a quick glare at one of the latest novelties in the market of graphics solutions – another representative of ASUS, to be exact, ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.
Equipment and Design
The card comes in a small box. The package has got extra case pads, VELCRO ties for wires, as well as the code for World of Warships 15 days’ premium mode. A good set for a this class representative.
ASUS ROG Strix GeForce resembles older video cards in this series: the same solid cooling with a large heat sink and a pair of fans, strict design. Given the low TDP, everything looks quite serious. The total length of the video card is 24 cm. The cooler takes up two slots.

Strict black view of the case can be diluted with additional pads having red elements. These covers are supplied. On the back panel there are four slots for image output: DisplayPort, HDMI and two DVI.
The hood hides a large radiator with a massive base and two thick heatpipes. A direct contact of these pipes with the graphics chip surface is implemented.
The radiator is assembled from a number of thin plates of a small height, permeated by the heatpipes at the edges. A plastic casing with fans is clinging over the edge of the radiator with snaps.
Two fans Everflow T129215SM fans 10 cm in diameter are used. Under the plastic frame, which is bolted to the fans, the sticky adhesive pads which improve grip and vibration-damping are placed.
The ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1050 Ti uses a full-length printed circuit board. The was not saving in manufacturing and circuit design.
All high-quality electronic components meeting internal standard Super Alloy Power II are soldered. Everything corresponds to the ASUS high-end graphics cards level.
The graphics chip is powered by the four-phase voltage converter run by the uP9501P controller. The memory is powered by the two phases.
The video card uses the full version of the new 14-nm GP107-400-A1 chip with 768 stream processors. Four gigabytes of memory are assembled of four Samsung K4G80325FB-HC28 chips.
The factory default frequencies are higher than the recommended ones. Basic frequency is increased from 1290 to 1380 MHz with Boost Clock 1493 MHz instead of the standard 1392 MHz. The memory works at the prescribed 7 GHz effective frequency.
All the cards ROG of line Strix Gaming support three operational profiles with different frequencies. By default, the retail version works in Gaming Mode. There is as well the Silent Mode with lower frequencies and reduced fan speed, but initially they are so low that the «silent» mode is not relevant. The OC Mode offers higher operating frequencies of 1392/1502 MHz.
Switching the modes is done via the ASUS GPU Tweak II utility. This program provides maximum opportunities for settings’ options monitoring. other applications, including MSI Afterburner are also supported.

The ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1050 Ti video card demonstrates an excellent performance. The card nominally works with high factory default overclock, so this model claims to be the fastest among other representatives with similar parameters. The increased productivity is combined with high quality PCB and powerful cooling. ASUS ROG Strix pleases with low noise, as well as with low operating temperatures not only in a normal operating mode, but also at maximum overckocking.
The achievable frequencies are the highest among all the cards in this series, this card seems to become the best graphics in the new line of the manufacturer’s solutions. This video card is currently the one with the most efficient cooling and better overclocking potential in its price category.
