Kingston Showcases New Enterprise-Class SSDNow E50

Kingston, an outstanding developer of various data storage solutions, has recently introduced a new series of solid-state drives intended for enterprise use. Entitled SSDNow E50, the products feature a standard 2.5-inch design and are available in three capacities: 100 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB correspondingly. The new-comer employs SATA III 6 Gb/sec interface and MLC NAND synchronous flash-memory.

Kingston SSDNow E50 takes LSI SandForce-SF2581 controller as the basis. It ensures rather high performance showings. With the purpose to guarantee a stable operation of the drives, to minimize data transfer errors and reduce the cell wear, the manufacturer furnished the models with DuraClass, DuraWrite, S.M.A.R.T., and RAISE technologies. As a result, Mean Time between Failures is estimated as 1.000.000 hours.

In regard to speed characteristics, each model demonstrates the following showings:

Maxthon 3.0. Browser Review

The search for the needed information and work with various online data is currently facilitated due to the availability of various browsers. In the majority of cases, Internet users give preference to the most popular browsers, such as Opera, Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, IE, which proved to be multifunctional and user-friendly at the same time. This is a verity that cannot be argued, though IT market is full of alternative browsers which show good functional characteristics but are less-recognizable by the Internet community. Maxthon, which appeared in the market more than 10 years ago and is prognosticated to gain popularity in the nearest future, can be ascribed to such browsers.

General Peculiarities of Maxthon 3.0.

Maxthon developers intended to combine all efficient features from the most popular browsers and integrate them into their product. Moreover, some of the features were supposed to exceed those of the global browsers. Maxthon 3.0. browser is based on the …

Solid-State Drive OCZ Agility 4 Review

Up-to-date SSD manufacturers are inclined to employ MLC flash-memory with synchronous interface in their product lines. The implementation of exactly such memory interface allows balancing the advanced performance with moderate price. This is especially vital for SSDs with SATA 3 6Gb/sec interface. Nevertheless, some producers take the challenge to implement flash-memory with asynchronous interface in their drives. As a result, the final products go at more attractive price but with more modest speed characteristics. OCZ dared to overcome this speed drawback by releasing SSD Agility 4 series. The models included in the series are based on asynchronous flash-memory interface and, according to the company's words, prove to show quite decent speed index.

Chief Peculiarities

Despite the prevalence of SandForce controllers implemented in SSDs, OCZ decided to use quite different platform for its new series. Agility 4 employs Indilinx Everest 2 controllers which, in some way, …
