Seagate Announces a Bunch of New SSDs Targeting Various Segments

Seagate Technology, one of the leading players in HDD/SSD industry, announces the release of its first solid-state drive targeting consumer segment and next-generation drives targeting corporate field. Therefore, corporate clients will be able to enjoy the privileges of Seagate 1200 SSD that is primarily predestined for the implementation into high-end server systems. These drives will be released in three capacity versions (200 GB, 400 GB and 800 GB) and will employ SAS interface with 12 Gb/sec bandwidth.



Seagate 600 SSD is developed in 2.5-inch form-factor with two case depth modifications: 5 mm and 7 mm. The new-comers are supposed to be the most optimal solution for laptops and other small-sized devices. Presentation of a Professional Graphics Card AMD FirePro W9000

Within the bounds of AMD Fusion Developer Summit, Advanced Micro Devices has presented its new graphics card AMD FirePro W9000. The new graphic solution is based on a couple of 28-nm Tahiti chips and is actually a prototype of Radeon HD 7900 adapter. FirePro W9000 is chiefly targeted at professionals used to work with 3D technologies and video editing applications.



AMD FirePro W9000 is based on a red circuit board developed to work with PCI Express 3.0x16 bus. The cooling system is represented by a solid cooler of active type, a high-end radiator, three 90 mm. noiseless fans and copper heat tubes. The organization of additional power presupposes the availability of two dedicated eight-contact slots.

Gelid SlimHero Gains an Off-the-Shelf Product Status

First seen at CeBIT exhibition, CPU cooler SlimHero from Gelid has turned into an off-the-shelf product. The new-comer joined Gelid Silent cooler series and is already available for customers at the price of around $32. The major distinctive peculiarity applied to the cooler is its framework: it features only 59 mm height that is quite appropriate for the installation into small-sized mini-ITX/mini-Tower PC cases or into advanced HTPC systems.



At the same time, SlimHero is equipped with four copper heat pipes, a range of aluminum ribs, and 120 mm fan. The employment of copper in the design of heat pipes is to significantly increase heat transfer to the ribs. Moreover, their original shape ensures low resistance to airflow, resulting in a more efficient cooling process.
