Asus to Release a Hybrid All-in-One PC with a Detachable Display

Asus decided to rejoice its ardent fans by the development of yet another hybrid all-in-one PC entitled Transformer AiO. First of all, it should be mentioned that this product differs from regular hybrid items (laptop-tablets or tablet-netbooks) by an unusual framework. This is a combination of all-in-one solution with a voluminous tablet, where Windows 8 and Android unanimously cooperate. In other words, Transformer AiO is a PC with a detachable display that can work in a standalone mode.

When examining this model as a PC dock-station and all-in-one solution, it’s necessary to name all key components. Thus, it is based on Intel Core i3 3220/i5 3350P/i7 3770 CPU, employs Nvidia GeForce GT730M graphics adapter and the latest Windows 8 OS platform. Internal layout allows the integration of 1 TB/2 TB hard drive and up to 8GB RAM. The station accommodates four USB 3.0 ports, Kensington’s lock, optical drive, and USB transmitter for the connection of keyboard and mouse.

To continue, the display features 18.4 inch dimensions and 1920x1080 resolution (Full HD quality). The heart of the tablet is Nvidia Tegra 3 platform and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. The volume of available RAM memory equals to 2GB; also, there is up to 32GB of available flash-memory space for reliable data storage. If there is such a necessity, the user is able to expand the tablet’s storage facilities by means of SD card. The inventory of the display contains mini-USB 2.0 port and a built-in battery estimated for at least five hours of unimpeded operation.

Both parts of Transformer AiO are able to ‘communicate’ with each other, due to wireless connection. Asus promises to start the retail sale of this extraordinary PC already in the Q2 2013. The price will fluctuate within the measures of $1300.
