Entry-Level PC Chassis Sharkoon REX3 Series

After the release of REX8 series, Sharkoon decided to replenish its line of chassis with a new entry-level series. The series has been entitled REX3 and is currently represented by Value and Economy models. Both models are designed in Midi-Tower form factor and are ready to accept the motherboards of micro-ATX/ATX dimensional type. The other distinctive feature of the upcoming models is their price, which is targeted to attract the customers with modest and medium financial possibilities.

Chassis REX3 Value and REX3 Economy differ from their predecessors, REX8 models, by the availability of three instead of four bays for 5.25-inch drives which have the output to the frontal panel. The fourth bay is predestined for 3.5-inch drive; at the same time, the number of internal 3.5-inch bays remained the same and equals to four items. The length and capacity of casing is about to accommodate seven expansion slots of up to 29 cm in length; the height of casing allows for the installation of CPU cooler of up to 16 cm in height; the length of compatible PSUs might achieve 30 cm.

The frontal part of the casing is notable for the grid-like structure that promotes for better airflow. Both models are compatible as with air cooling, so with water cooling systems. The latter is easily integrated due to the alloted holes for the cables on the rear panel.

The differentiation between the two chassis is primarily seen in the available colors and interface sockets. REX3 Value features a window on the side panel, a couple of 120 mm fans, and blue LED lightning. It is delivered as in white so in black color of casing. The interface panel is represented by four USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 sockets. REX3 Economy model is equipped with six USB 2.0 sockets and, unfortunately, with zero USB 3.0 sockets. It is delivered in only one color of casing – black one.
