Gigabyte to Release a New Mini-ITX GA-J1800N-D2H Motherboard

Gigabyte is going to release its latest elaboration – mini-ITX motherboard, codenamed GA-J1800N-D2H. The model is peculiar by the availability of an integrated two-core Intel Celeron J1800 CPU that runs at 2.4/2.5 GHz. In its turn, this processor boasts only 10 TDP level, so it might be efficiently cooled by a single aluminum heatsink, without fans. Upon the whole, the board is targeting entry-level desktop systems and comes to the market at the price tag of $60.

Gigabyte GA-J1800N-D2H accommodates two SO-DIMM slots, ready to house DDR3-1333 MHz memory modules with the maximal capacity of 8 GB. The connection of optical drives and other storage solutions is realized via two SATA II 3 Gb/sec ports. Expansion facilities are not so versatile but quite appropriate for a small-sized board: one PCI Express 2.0 x1 slot and one mini-PCI Express slot; the latter is intended for the connection of Wi-Fi module.

To continue, audio subsystem traditionally operates by means of Realtek controller (ALC887). It provides for the production of 7.1-channel sounding. The incorporation of gigabit LAN controller adds to the motherboard’s network powers. Irrespective of the form-factor, this model is able to offer a wide spectrum of interfaces for the connection of peripheral devices: USB ports (3.0 and 2.0 versions), HDMI and D-Sub video ports, three audio ports, RJ-45 LAN, COM, PS/2, LPT, and S/PDIF.

One of the most outstanding features ascribed to GA-J1800N-D2H is the employment of Ultra Durable PCB design. It stipulates the incorporation of high-end Japanese capacitors and guarantees protection for all hardware pieces from humidity, current discharges and drops. Finally, control and adjustment of all parameters is realized via AMI UEFI Bios (64-bit) interface.
