Greeting Kingston SSDNow mS200 Solid-State Drive

Kingston Technology, a large-scale developer of varied memory solutions from California, announces the launch of a new solid-state drive from SSDNow series, codenamed mS200. Currently, the model is available in two larger versions of 240 GB and 480 GB. Both new-comers are designed in mSATA form-factor, featuring 50.88x30 mm dimensions. Upon the whole, their dimensions are 8 times smaller than those imposed to standard 2.5-inch products.

Kingston mS200 are targeting budgetary segment of laptops, tablets and ultrabooks. Nonetheless, the drives are able to demonstrate high performance and allow the user to install two items within one system at a time in order to enlarge the storage volume. The new SSDs support Intel Smart Response Technology, TRIM, S.M.A.R.T., as well as 128-bit automatic encoding; they are thought to dramatically enhance the performance.

To continue, the greenhorns employ SATA III 6 Gb/sec interface and are based on LSI SandForce 2281 controller. In keeping with the manufacturer’s testing, the drives are estimated for 1M hours of trouble-free operation with the maximal possible Read/Write capacity of 93 TB. Furthermore, these SSDs consume 0.4 W in standby mode, 1.8 W in writing mode, and 1.2 W in reading mode.

Along with durability, mS200 are ready to strike by performance.
