Here Comes a Series of Radeon R7 Graphics Cards from Sapphire

Sapphire is the company that frequently gladdens its fans with high-end advanced solutions. Thereby, it doesn’t lag behind other manufacturers who nowadays introduce their own versions of AMD’s Radeon R series of adapters. Sapphire Radeon R7 series currently counts seven models: four of them belong to Radeon R7 240 lineup, two – to Radeon R7 250 lineup, and one – to Radeon R7 260 lineup. As a result, each customer is able to choose a card, which is an optimal balance between price and facilities.

The senior model, Sapphire Radeon R7 260X, is based on AMD Bonaire XTX GPU, running at 1150 MHz frequency. It is equipped with 2 GB GDDR5 memory modules (128-bit interface) that operate at 6600 MHz effective frequency. Cooling is provided by a two-slot cooler that embraces a few heatpipes, an aluminum heatsink, and a single axial-flow fan. Video interfaces are represented by DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI-I, and DVI-D ports.

A pair of Sapphire Radeon R7 250 models is distinguished by the support of GPU boost technology that dynamically increases clock frequencies from the nominal 1000 MHz to 1050 MHz. The incorporated cooling system takes 1.5 slots and consists of an aluminum heatsink, accompanied by one fan. The major distinction between the two cards is memory volume and clock frequencies; one of the cards is equipped with 1 GB GDDR5 memory, while the other – with 2 GB GDDR5 memory.

The quad of Sapphire Radeon R7 240 graphics adapters are characterized by identical GPU clock frequencies (nominal – 730 MHz, overclocked – 780 MHz). Cooling systems are also analogous, with a compact heatsink and a small-sized fan. Their key differentiation lies in the employment of diverse memory modules: some use DDR3 memory but the others – GDDR5 one. Memory volume also differs from model to model and makes up 1-4 GB.

Additionally, it should be mentioned that all seven graphics cards employ PCI Express 3.0 x16 interface and come with a brand TriXX software package that is called to optimize their performance. Besides, all of them ensure the connection of two monitors, except for Radeon R7 260X that is known to support up to 4 monitors at a time.
