HIS Marvels Customers with an Overclocked Radeon HD 7850 Graphics Card

HIS has supplemented its line of Radeon HD 7850 graphics adapters with a new outstanding model, codenamed HIS 7850 iPower IceQ X² Turbo. It is primarily distinguished from the reference model by a modified design and overclocked frequencies. Another distinguishing feature is that the card will be delivered along with a brand iTurbo utility; it is called to facilitate the adjustment of all key graphics parameters and optimize its efficiency level.

HIS 7850 iPower IceQ X² Turbo is based on AMD Pitcairn Pro GPU developed on GCN architecture (28 nm technological process). Its nominal clock frequency has been increased from 860 MHz to 1000 MHz. Memory subsystem is introduced by 256-bit GDDR5 memory modules, the overall capacity of which achieves 2 GB. Their nominal clock frequency index equals to 1200 MHz, while effective frequency approximates 4800 MHz.

Cooling of all crucial components is imposed upon a brand two-slot IceQ X² system. It is characterized by a better efficiency in combination with low noise level. The implemented cooling system consists of a voluminous copper base, an aluminum heatsink, three copper heat pipes, and a pair of 75 mm fans of axial type.

It should be mentioned that the model utilizes brand iPower design that embraces more phases in VRM system (8 phases vs. 7 in models with reference design). Moreover, it uses high-quality Dr.Mos chips instead of traditional MOS-transistors.

This graphics card employs PCI Express 3.0 x16 internal interface, while its external I/O facet is represented by four video ports: a couple of mini-DisplayPort, one HDMI, and one DVI. Similar to other AMD-based graphics adapters, HIS 7850 iPower IceQ X² Turbo supports a number of advanced technologies, including OpenGL 4.2, Open CL 1.2, DirectX 11.1, DirectCompute 11, and a list of AMD facilities (ZeroCore, Eyespeed, Stream, CrossFireX, Eyefinity, and PowerPlay).
