Qsan Unveils TrioNAS LX U300 Unifying Data Storages

Qsan, primarily known for various data storage solutions, has recently introduced unifying data storage models intended for SMB. Codenamed TrioNAS LX U300, the new-comers feature modular design with optimal expansion facilities and a balanced settings kit. This provides for a unifying access to the file storage via Ethernet or Fibre Channel networks; the latter support data storage by means of NFS, AFP, FTP, WebDAV, CIFS protocols, as well as block storage via Fibre Channel and iSCSI.

The TrioNAS LX U300 items are based on Intel Haswell platform with Intel Xeon E3-1200 v3 processor. The system comes with an integrated Intel HD Graphics P4600 and Intel C226 chipset. Power supply is realized due to high-quality PSUs with 80Plus Platinum certificates; they ensure up to 90% efficiency on typical load, thanks to the employment of prime Japanese solid-state and electrolytic capacitors.

The basic storage versions come in two configurations: 3U form-factor for 16 drive bays and 4U form-factor for 24 drive bays. Each is equipped with 16 GB ECC RAM (still, it’s possible to enlarge the volume up to 32 GB), seven Gigabit ports, and an interface host-card 8G FC or 10 Gb iSCSI.

To continue, all models accommodate an integrated Intel Intelligent Acceleration Library (ISAL). It promotes for an improved data security as well as gives access to ‘corporate’ facilities, including caching on SSD, duplication, etc. Perfect system scalability, enabled due to J100 expansion modules, makes it possible to store up to 1 PB data.

TrioNAS LX U300 storages employ ZFS file system to ensure data integrity and their reliable protection. Moreover, they support Unified AUTH technology that enables cooperation with Windows Active Directory management utility. Therefore, users might monitor data on a continuing basis and start using disk area even before RAID arrays are created.
