Point of View strengthens GeForce GTX 680 UltraCharged 4GB of memory

Dutch manufacturer of discrete graphics Point of View considered as a good idea to equip one of the top-end versions GeForce GTX 680 with the prefix UltraCharged with four gigabytes of memory. This graphic card can be a good alternative to existing POV / TGT GTX 680 UltraCharged with 2GB buffer.



The new model, as well as it «precursor», is using the reference design PCB Nvidia with the configuration of additional power connectors PCI-E Power (6 +8)-pin. Typically, the PCB for GeForce GTX 680 is equipped with only four power phases for the GPU, but the version of the UltraCharged Point of View / TGT the fifth one added.


The frequencies remained the same: 1111 MHz for the graphics core (1176 MHz in turbo mode) and 6008 MHz for the 4 GB of memory GDDR5. Under three-slot cooling system, there is GK104 chip in the composition of 1536 shaders and 256-bit memory bus. LaCie Updates a High-End 5big NAS-Server

LaCie, a reputable French manufacturer of premium storage devices, has updated its award-winning NAS, codenamed LaCie 5big, filling it with a bunch of cutting-edge options. The greenhorn is targeting corporate field and intended at a problem-free data backup, 4K video editing, joint and remote access to data, etc. The storage is housed in a solid aluminum chassis and counts five drive bays. Nonetheless, it features 173x220x196 mm dimensions only, which makes it the most compact NAS with the largest storage capacity in the market.



LaCie 5big will be available in three versions with the maximal capacity of 10 TB, 20 TB and 30 TB. The most outstanding peculiarity pertained to the model is the support of high-speed Thunderbolt 2 interface, represented by two ports. Initially, the storage presupposes the integration of five 6 TB hard drives, designed by Seagate, with the 7200 RPM spindle operation.

Point of View GeForce GT 640: power-efficient graphics

Company Point of View has presented the first card of GeForce 600 category — Point of View GeForce GT 640, created on the basis of GPU nVidia.



GeForce GT 640 is a power-efficient graphics processor with little heat-emission index. It is developed in compliance with 28 nm technological process and based on Kepler architecture. GPU is equipped with 384 universal processors, and supports key technologies nVidia, such as adaptive vertical synchronization, smoothing FXAA and nVidia Surround — a technology that allows to connect up to three monitors simultaneously. Also the model supports stereoscopic 3D mode.


Graphics card Point of View GeForce GT 640 has got three video outputs — Dual Link DVI, HDMI and VGA, and is available in 1 GB and 2 GB video-memory versions of DDR3 type. In comparison with the previous generations of GeForce grapics cards, new nVidia GeForce GT 640 boasts high efficiency showings — up to 30%.
