Intel Broadwell CPUs will Get BGA Casing

The Internet community is energetically discussing unofficial info concerning the future Intel's Broadwell processors. According to the yet unacknowledged data, Intel will branch off from currently traditional LGA casings in favor to a more advanced BGA solution. At present all CPUs designed by Intel specifically for desktop platforms feature LGA (Land Grid Array) casings which allow the users to upgrade their systems without any hassle. On LGA implementation, the chip is housed within a socket and contacts with the motherboard. As a result, the user might change one chip to the other only with similar set of contacts.

The launch of Intel Broadwell processors, which is planned for 2014, might dramatically change the situation for customers. Most probably Intel will refuse from LGA casings and accommodate all new CPUs in BGA ones, marking the change of Haswell generation to the future Broadwell generation developed under 14 nm technological process. The developer promises high quality audio through 7.1-channel HD Blue-ray audio codec ALC898, Technology THX TruStudio Pro, Hi-Fi Ground (multi-layer PCB with protectors properties), and Puro Tone (signal / noise ratio — 110 dB), as well as resistors, Hi-Fi Resistor with tin oxide capacitors and Hi-Fi Cap.

Four slots for memory with dual access are designed for installation of modules DDR3-1066/.../2600 totaling 32 GB. In addition, the construction of SLI and CrossFire configurations using the formula «x8 + x8» is possible. The lower slot PCI-E 2.0 x16 x4 is good to use for high-speed SSD-drives, and «external» controllers. PCB has six ports Serial ATA …

Greeting Asus ROG Ares III Graphics Card with Double GPU Performance

Republic of Gamers devotees have been pleased with yet another addition to Ares series of graphics cards – the Asus ROG Ares III. It is a new powerful model based on two AMD Radeon R9 290X (Hawaii XT) GPUs, each of which cooperates with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory. At its core, this is a modified version of AMD Radeon R9 295X2 videocard, although with some perceptible changes. Potential customers will receive AMD Radeon Gold Reward warrant and a flash-memory card (8 GB) as an additional bonus. It’s worth of acquiring, isn’t it?

Asus ROG Ares III operates at heightened clock frequencies – 1030 MHz – if compared with Radeon R9 295X2 model that runs at 1018 MHz. Each memory module with 512-bit interface runs at 1250 MHz (nominal) frequency, but is able to accelerate up to 5.0 GHz (effective) index. The new-comer employs 16-phase power supply subsystem (Asus Digi+ VRM) that accommodates high-quality components Asus Super Alloy Power, i.e. Japanese solid-state capacitors from …
