Raidmax Comes Up with Viper GX II Gaming Chassis

Raidmax came to light with a new mid-tower case, entitled Viper GX II. Intended for hard-core gamers, it is available in a totally black, aggressive design with orange inclusions in the frontal panel. The model features 507x240x539 mm dimensions, thus, is targeting micro-ATX as well as ATX motherboards. The recommended by the manufacturer retail price makes up 64.99 Euro.

Raidmax Viper GX II is quite roomy with sufficient space for three 5.25-inch drives, seven 3.5-inch drives, and three optional 2.5-inch drives. Besides, there is place for seven PCI expansion cards. As far as graphics cards are concerned, their maximal admissible length should not exceed 415 mm; at the same time, the ultimate height of compatible CPU coolers makes up 165 mm.

The top facet accommodates a standard interface panel with four USB ports (both 2.0 and 3.0 are available) and a pair of 2.5 mm audio slots.

To continue, the chassis is differentiated by an optimized air-cooling system. Hence, it …

Announcement of video card Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 Super Overclock

The efforts of Gigabyte engineers culminated in the release of the Radeon HD 7970 Super Overclock, also known as GV-R797SO-3GD. This is a monstrous construction with height of 64 mm (3.5 expansion slots) and a cooling system WindForce 5X. As well as preparing to be released GeForce GTX 680 SOC, the new adapter uses a five high-speed (> 4000 rev / min) fan size of 40 mm, copper evaporation chamber, and five copper heat pipes.

WindForce 5X – is one of the most expensive VGA-coolers, except for models with water blocks and liquid cooling system. It will allow to overclock Gigabyte GV-R797SO-3GD up to frequencies of 1155/7620 MHz. However, neither the temperature nor the noise performance of video card can be considered satisfactory: 85 degrees under load and 91 ° C for overclocking with increased voltage, and 8000 rpm in a heavy-duty (1185 MHz, 1.375 V) explains the situation.

Printed circuit board Radeon HD 7970 SOC is reinforced with five polymer capacitors NEC / …

Meet the First RAID Controller with Sixteen SATA 6 Gb/sec Ports

Adaptec by PMC introduces the first in the market RAID controller series with the outstanding amount of SAS/SATA 6 Gb/sec ports. Adaptec Series 7 combines low-profile expansion cards developed particularly for PCI Express 3.0 bus. The integrated properties are called to enhance the bandwidth of the bus due to the availability of sixteen SAS/SATA 6 Gb/sec ports.

According to the claimed specifications, these RAID controllers are capable to demonstrate up to 450000 IOPS performance (on random writing (4 KB) conditions) when the number of connected SSDs equals to 16. Such performance showings are currently insuperable by a number of contemporary RAID controllers.

Adaptec Series 7 includes eight models which are differentiated by an amount of external and internal ports. All the models are low-profile expansion cards which are equipped with up to 24 ports. Such technological innovation became possible thanks to the implementation of compact HD mini-SAS sockets and …
