NZXT Rolls Out a New Chassis Phantom 630 Windowed Edition

NZXT has proudly announced the release of its newest PC chassis, codenamed Phantom 630 Windowed Edition. Being a modified version of Phantom 630 model, the ‘greenhorn’ is developed in ultra-tower form-factor, featuring a side-panel window. The case supports quite large motherboards (ATX, EATX, XL-ATX, and micro-ATX) and offers nine expansion slots.

Despite visual discrepancy with the original model, Windowed Edition preserved some of its basic features. Therefore, it allows for the integration of four 5.25-inch drives and eight 3.5/2.5-inch ones. The latter are installed into modular bays which can be removed if necessary. The chassis is ready to accept CPU coolers of 200 mm in height and long graphics adapters (up to 325 mm in length). In case the user decides to remove the internal drive bays, it will become possible to employ much longer adapters, up to 507 mm!

Company Thecus decided to introduce a new naming scheme for its drives, so that users can easily understand its product line. New names will have all future models.

In the name with length of five to seven characters will be encoded some information about the device. The first letter indicates the type of device: N — NAS running Linux, D — DAS, W — NAS running Windows, V — NVR. This is followed by a two-digit number indicating the number of disks (compartments for storage) in the system. If this amount is less than 10, the first zero is omitted. Fourth and fifth digit is coded by the hardware platform used. For example, 21 — Cavium Econa, 31 — Marvell Armada, 51 — Intel Atom Cedarview, 52 — Intel EvanSport, 53 — Intel Atom third-generation, 81 — Sandy Bridge, 82 — Ivy Bridge, 83 — Other Platforms future generations. NEC launches ultrabook based on Core i7 weighting 875g

Japanese company NEC has prepared a unique laptop VersaPro UltraLite VG for state market of the rising sun. The use of light materials and advanced components has reduced the weight of a 13.3-inch laptop up to 875g total.

The body of ultrabook is made of magnesium-lithium alloy and has thickness of 14.9 mm. The product is designed for business travelers who need high performance in small form factor. The «heart» of the laptop is dual-core Core i7-3517U (Ivy Bridge), operating at a frequency of 1.9 GHz to 3 GHz, depending on the load. To it was joined by 4 GB of RAM SO-DIMM DDR3 and a 128-gigabyte SSD-drive. Built-in Intel HD graphics 4000 (350/1100 MHz) will provide an opportunity to play casual games on the screen with a resolution of 1600x900 pixels and LED-backlit display.
