Meeting Four New PSU Series from LEPA

Ecomaster has recently expanded its production line by four new PSU series under LEPA brand name. Codenamed P, GM MaxGold, GM MaxBron and MX, this quadruple is targeting high-end, middle-end, and mainstream market segments. It is noteworthy that each of the series involves several models of various power and efficiency showings to meet the power supply requirements of diverse PC systems.

P series is attributed to the high-end market segment and consists of three high-capacity models: P1700-MA, P1375-MA and P1050-MA with 1700 W, 1375 W and 1050 W correspondingly. The triple features totally modular cable management system and identical cooling system, introduced by 135 mm low-noise fan on ball bearing. Super high efficiency level allowed all power supply units within the series to receive 80Plus Platinum certificate.

GM MaxGold series boasts 80Plus Gold certificate due to high power efficiency. The series includes five models that feature a …

Meeting New Cooling System Brocken 2 from Alpenfoehn

Only a couple of weeks are left till the official release of a new cooling system Brocken 2 designed by Alpenfoehn. This is a long-awaited launch, since the fist version of the system, entitled Brocken, was honored to gladden the audience long time ago. Hereby, Brocken 2 has got a wee bit modified framework, if compared with the predecessor. Its dimensions together with a fan equal to 146x100x165 mm.

The base is shaped by means of five 6 mm copper heat pipes, tightly pressed together. Aluminum plates of the heatsink seem to be ‘cut’ in the center, unlike the one-piece construction of plates implemented in Brocken.

Active cooling power is ensured by a nine-blade fan of 140 mm standard size, known as WingBoost 2. The fan supports PWM technology that allows altering its rotational speed within the boundaries of 400-1100 RPM. Its activity stimulates the airflow index of 109 CFM, while the noise level barely achieves 19.6 dB (A). WingBoost 2 features small distance between …

AMD Announces the Development of Steamroller

Heightened demand for high-end processor solutions and ever rising competition make AMD constantly develop its products. This usually results in the release of really outstanding items, such as already acknowledged Bulldozer and Piledriver. Therefore, according to the words of the companies technical manager, Mark Papermaster, the development of a new processor architecture, codenamed Steamroller, is already on order of AMD's business. The ready-made products are sure to be released next year. Steamroller is called to become the third edition of Bulldozer architecture that launched last year and a loyal companion of Piledriver core.

The initial data witness that processors on Steamroller architecture will be designed in correspondence with 28 nm technological process. This should favorably affect their efficiency and enlarge the performance by 15-20% at equivalent power consumption and clock frequency. At the same time, Steamroller will improve all specifications implemented in …
