New Midi-Tower Chassis Series Xpredator X1 from Aerocool

The line of chassis designed by Aerocool has been supplemented by a new Xpredator series codenamed X1. The series is developed in midi-tower form-factor and will be of particular interest to gamers and enthusiasts. The chassis is ready to support the motherboards of ATX and micro-ATX standard, CPU coolers up to 158 mm in height and graphics cards up to 400 mm in length. As one might see, internal layout is quite spacious and does not yield to the full-tower models.

Aerocool Xpredator X1 is delivered in black and white edition. Both editions are distinguished by a splashy and provoking design. Black edition combines black casing, scaly red top panel, and grid-like red frontal panel. White edition combines white casing with black inclusions. The casing itself is made of SPCC steel which reliably protects all internal components from adverse external factors.

The Internet community is actively discussing new Intel's development, processors Poulson, that belongs to the tenth generation of Intel Itanium. All previous data about the upcoming product were vague and void of official proofs. Currently, the data are more ample and allow the community to study the future processor in more details. Thus, Intel Itanium 9500, codenamed Poulson, will be presented by four models the release of which is planned for early autumn.

The crystal of Poulson processor will consist of 3.1 billion transistors that are called to form eight computing cores. Each core counts up 89 million transistors and the pipeline width is doubled to twelve instructions. This way CPU developers implement more efficient approach towards transistor budget. Just for comparison purposes, Poulson's predecessor, Tukwila, counted 109 billion transistors per core.

Akasa Intros a Small-Sized AK-CC1101EP02 CPU Cooler

Following the release of a low-profile cooler, codenamed AK-CC7122EP01, Akasa is glad to introduce one more small-sized item. The AK-CC1101EP02 features 80x80x28.3 mm dimensions and is predestined to be employed as a part of a compact system within mini-ITX/micro-ATX chassis. The model is compatible with AMD FM1/FM2/754/939/AM2(+)/AM3(+) sockets only.

Akasa AK-CC1101EP02 involves an aluminum heatsink with cam-lever clip installation type, a thermal compound on the base, and a 80 mm fan. The latter is based on EBR bearing and equipped with PWM technology that adjusts the rotational speed from the minimal 600 RPM to the maximal 3000 RPM.

Its efficiency achieves 26.53 CFM, producing up to 27 dB noise. The estimated time of fail-proof operation equals to 40.000 hours. The fan is adjoined to the motherboard via a 4-pin connector and receives voltage power via 12VDC bus.
