KingFast Showcases K25 SSD for Data Caching Activity

KingFast, a Chinese developer and supplier of high-end SSD solutions, decided to present quite a new approach in data caching by releasing a dedicated solid-state drive version. Model K25 Ultra-Cache is designed in 2.5-inch form-factor and is basically destined to fulfill various data caching procedures on availability of a slack HDD that can't cope with caching efficiently. In other words, this drive will add the required speed to the PC in which OS is installed on a traditional HDD. The most beneficial thing is that the customer won't have to deinstall OS in order to enhance the system by K25 Ultra-Cache.

This drive is equipped with 32GB of NAND MLC flash-memory and employs SATA 3Gb/sec interface. It should be mentioned that caching option is realized by means of a pre-installed Nvelo DataPlex program that facilitates all processes. The estimated consecutive Read speed achieves the margin of 270MB/sec, while consecutive Write speed is recorded at 190MB/sec.

Be Quiet! Adds a Couple of Dark Base 900 Cases

Be Quiet! has supplemented its lineup of PC cases with two Super-Midi Tower models: the Dark Base 900 & the Dark Base Pro 900. Both new-comers allow for the installation of ATX/XL-ATX/E-ATX motherboards with the maximum of 8 expansion slots. The chassis is made of SECC steel with a mixture of ABS-plastic inserts. The Pro version comes with a side window made of a quenched glass.

Be Quiet! Dark Base 900 cases (585.5x577.2x242.7 mm) feature a pair of 5.25-inch drives bays, seven 3.5-inch bays as well as fifteen 2.5-inch drive bays. They are ready to accommodate CPU coolers of up to 185 mm in height, PSU of up to 284 mm in length, and graphics cards of up to 325 mm (with the drive bay)/470 mm (without the drive bay) in length. The range of external interfaces includes a single HD audio port & four USB ports (2x v 2.0, 2x v 3.0).

AMD Highlights Plans for the Transition to the 28nm Process

AMD is a company known for the continual and elaborate work on the development and improvement of all product lines, as well as technological standards. Thus, the coming 2013 year is supposed to be portentous for the company in terms of the implementation of 28nm standards in their APU. AMD has recently voiced the plans for the change of the Trinity APU to a new model, codenamed Richland, and the transition to 28nm technological process.

The new APU, Richland, is presumably to be released in two versions: dual-core and quad-core. It will support a number of high-performance technologies, such as Blu-ray 3D, dual graphics, Open CL, AMD turbo core overclocking, and some others.
