Promising Speed Forecasts for AMD Radeon 8000 Sea Islands

AMD is continuing its work on the new GPU generation codenamed ‘Sea Islands’. The new series is prognosticated to be released in the coming winter. All the products with this GPU will be branded Radeon 8000. AMD manufacturers claim that their new graphic processing units will be 40% more efficient due to the implemented advanced technologies. There is not so much news about the future GPU architecture, although cardinal changes are barely possible.

Sea Islands chips will be equipped with 5.1 billion transistors as compared with the current 4.3 billion items applied in the products. This augmentation will facilitate the increment of efficiency. The Forthcoming Switch to 5 mm HDD Models

Nowadays HDD segment is represented by various products from various companies. However, with the development and release of ultrabooks, manufacturers directed their production to the hybrid-type drives. This resulted in the predominance of hybrid solutions in the market.

Recently Itel has advanced a motion to digress somehow from the production of hybrid drives and switch to the decrease of traditional HDDs dimensions to 5 mm in casing depth. According to the company's assumptions, such change could moderate the price for drives and provide the necessary volume capacity for ultrabooks.

Some manufacturers have already directed a part of their technological powers to the design of HDDs with 5 mm casings. Nevertheless, there appeared a couple of obstacles on their way: the necessity to stabilize data reading and writing activities, and increase of costs spent on drives' production. Inno3D Demonstrates Two GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost Graphics Cards

As opposed to the army of companies that launched practically identical to the prototype GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost graphics cards, Inno3D has elaborated two own versions which dramatically differ from Nvidia’s sample. The major difference lies in an efficient cooling system and production overclocking. The first model, marked as Inno3D GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost iChill, is equipped with a highly efficient cooler ‘iChill’ and features 7% production overclocking. The other model, marked as Inno3D GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost, comes without overclocked frequencies, although its hardware components promote for the conducting of various clock frequency tests.

Both novels take GK106 as the basis. The GPU is developed under 28 nm technological process and features 768 CUDA cores, 64 texturing blocks, and 16 rasterization blocks.
