Acer Showcases Aspire Z3-615 All-in-One PC

Acer is preparing for a May launch of the newest all-in-one PC, codenamed Aspire Z3-615. It is built on Haswell-based Intel Core CPU and employs (optionally) Nvidia graphics adapter. What is more, the model runs under the updated version of Windows 8.1 OS. The customers will be able to acquire a high-efficiency device for the price tag of $999.

Acer Aspire Z3-615 features 23-inch IPS display that supports Full HD resolution. It houses inbuilt speakers with the support for Dolby Digital Plus Home Theater technology, as well as an inbuilt microphone with Acer Purified Voice option. The latter ensures background noise clipping and high voice audibility on video-chat sessions. The implemented stand allows for the alteration of display pitch angle within the range from -5 degrees to +25 degrees.

Nvidia's half hearted established the supply of dual-chipset videoadapter GeForce GTX 690. In turn, the competing Radeon HD 7990 is seriously delayed, although previously the release for late July was planned.

According to new information, AMD will officially unveil the video card, code-named New Zealand in the second half of August. Non-reference Radeon HD 7970 X2 from HIS, PowerColor and other AMD exclusive partners will debut, apparently, even later.

Most likely, Radeon HD 7990 will be announced at the annual exhibition Gamescom (Cologne) 16 to August 19. This is one of the few Premier Advanced Micro Devices, which will take place on the European continent: usually the company prefers to organize similar events in their home countries or in countries in South-east Asia.

ARM Readies Cortex-A72 and Mali-T880 for Mobile Devices

ARM has just announced a series of solutions for the upcoming next-generation mobile SoC. The most notable developments are Cortex-A72 processor and Mali-T880 graphics. According to the manufacturer, both components will be interconnected within SoC by means of CoreLink – CCI-500. The launch of new items is scheduled for 2016. Rockchip, MediaTek and HiSilicon are among the companies to integrate both elaborations into their products.

It should be noted that Cortex- A72 is a successor of Cortex-A57, taking analogous 64-bit operations but demonstrating three times higher performance. The new-comer will be designed under 16 nm FinFET+ technological process. Its layout corresponds to big.LITTLE framework requirements; this promotes for its combination with other ARM cores.
