Meeting New Cooling System Brocken 2 from Alpenfoehn

Only a couple of weeks are left till the official release of a new cooling system Brocken 2 designed by Alpenfoehn. This is a long-awaited launch, since the fist version of the system, entitled Brocken, was honored to gladden the audience long time ago. Hereby, Brocken 2 has got a wee bit modified framework, if compared with the predecessor. Its dimensions together with a fan equal to 146x100x165 mm.

The base is shaped by means of five 6 mm copper heat pipes, tightly pressed together. Aluminum plates of the heatsink seem to be ‘cut’ in the center, unlike the one-piece construction of plates implemented in Brocken.

Active cooling power is ensured by a nine-blade fan of 140 mm standard size, known as WingBoost 2. The fan supports PWM technology that allows altering its rotational speed within the boundaries of 400-1100 RPM. Its activity stimulates the airflow index of 109 CFM, while the noise level barely achieves 19.6 dB (A). WingBoost 2 features small distance between …

The new version of the chassis from Zalman Z9 Plus

The company Zalman continues to utilize the design of the whole successful chassis Z9, releasing a new model Z9 Plus D4-U3. Perhaps, the only difference from the recent Z9 U3 is the lower part of the front panel, made in the form of letter D.

The list of applied characteristics has remained the same. The body is made of steel and plastic in the form factor Mid-Tower. Its dimensions are 504 (L) x 207 (W) x 464 (H) mm, weight — a little over 7 lbs. Inside can be placed the motherboard ATX or microATX, seven cards PCI-E expansion up to 290 mm, ATX-compatible power supply, three optical drives, and seven hard drives, including two SSD 2.5 format.

The set includes two 120-mm fan — in front with the LED-backlit display and on the back without it. On the input-output is a small information display, two USB 3.0 ports and USB 2.0, Mini-Jack connectors for headphones and microphone.

Zalman Z9 Plus D4-U3 will debut in Japan and perhaps in some other markets, August 19 at a …

Cooler Master Gets Ready to Roll Out a Powerful V8 GTS Cooling System

Cooler Master is going to release V8 GTS CPU cooling system – the newest addition to V-series products. The model has got a spectacular design with a large heatsink block, two high-performance fans, and black plastic coverage. The overall cooler’s dimensions make up 154x149.8x166.5 mm. V8 GTS is differentiated also by a high compatibility with a range of CPU sockets, naming AMD AM2/AM2+, AM3/AM3+, FM2/FM1 and Intel LGA2011/1366/1156/1155/1150/775.

Unlike other air-coolers, an elaboration from Cooler Master can boast the availability of a vapor chamber in the framework. This chamber is known to spread heat much faster than heatpipes do and protects the CPU from overheating on heightened loading. Moreover, the presence of this vapor chamber guarantees that the heat is evenly distributed between all incorporated heat pipes.

Except the above mentioned components, V8 GTS framework consists of three independent heatsink blocks, eight copper heat pipes, and a pair of 140 mm …
