MSI works on development on three Mini-ITX motherboards based on chipsets A85, B75, and Z77

During August, MSI will release the two motherboards LGA1155 form-factor Mini-ITX, based on chipset Intel B75 and Z77. The first is positioned as a budget solution, the second is, in addition to support of overclocking Ivy Bridge K factor, will offer enhanced power system, and integrated Wi-Fi adapter and Bluetooth. Before the start of retail sales APU A-Series/Trinity (October) they will be joined by Mini-ITX motherboard based on chipset AMD A85.

From the pair of tiny “motherboards” B75/Z77 the greatest interest is for last one. The full codename of the model — MSI Z77IA-E53.

The upcoming model has seven power phases of processor socket with elements DrMOS and tantalum capacitors, power connector EPS12V 8-pin, two slots for RAM DDR3 (up to 16 GB of RAM) and a slot PCI Express 3.0 x16. Also, there are two SATA ports with a throughput of 3 and 6 Gb / s, single eSATA and mSATA (3 Gb / s). Jack mini-PCIe 5 GT / s is located directly above the mSATA — the original …

Promising Speed Forecasts for AMD Radeon 8000 Sea Islands

AMD is continuing its work on the new GPU generation codenamed ‘Sea Islands’. The new series is prognosticated to be released in the coming winter. All the products with this GPU will be branded Radeon 8000. AMD manufacturers claim that their new graphic processing units will be 40% more efficient due to the implemented advanced technologies. There is not so much news about the future GPU architecture, although cardinal changes are barely possible.

Sea Islands chips will be equipped with 5.1 billion transistors as compared with the current 4.3 billion items applied in the products. This augmentation will facilitate the increment of efficiency. The chips will be developed according to the already tried-and-proven 28 nm technological requirements. The increase of transistors is not as large due to the adherence to the ascribed norms. It should be underlined that the implementation of the old technologies does not imply the considerable warming up of the chips; the developments …

Transcend Rolls Out StoreJet Cloud Storages

Transcend brings to the market a pair of unique cloud storages – the StoreJet Cloud 110 & the StoreJet Cloud 210. The first new-comer is equipped with a single 3.5-inch drive bay (max. capacity – 4 TB), while the second one avails two bays, offering up to 8 TB capacity and the possibility to create RAID 1 arrays (mirroring). The bays support HDD/SSD with SATA II interface.

Transcend StoreJet Cloud storages take a two-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU, running at 1.1 GHz frequency. It is accompanied by 256 MB of DDR3 memory. The advantage of such combination lies in high power efficiency and affordable price. Both models are characterized by a sleek design & the support for remote access, data backup, and stream processing options.

New cloud storages accommodate one Gigabit Ethernet port and one USB 3.0 port. They are known to support Apple Time Machine for data backup on Mac devices as well as AirPlay, iTunes & Chromecast technologies for content broadcasting. There is also a …
