Chieftec, a renowned PSU designer, developed and released its Nitro 2 series of power supply units a few years ago. Last year the series replenished with new models and nowadays it consists of nine units with 400W-850W power. All of them have managed to gain 80 Plus Bronze certificate, due to a high efficiency level 81-85-81 at 20%, 50% and 100% power loading correspondingly. Chieftec BPS-750C2 unit is a deserving representative of Nitro 2 series that attracts clients not only by its facilities but also by a democratic price.

Deepcool is preparing a new cooler with heat pipes

Deepcool production company of inexpensive and quite efficient cooling systems has provided a sample of CPU cooler — Big Frost (tentative codename), which is an extension of current Frostwin model. Previous model has 4 sintered powder heatpipes, which conduct heat from the processor to protect it from overheating. Also, like a new model, it has 120mm fans.

New model has a simple design, but strict, almost «standard», forms will not prevent it from showing a decent performance. It works with less noise and performs an effective cooling. Big Frost consists of a nickel-plated copper base with a miniature auxiliary radiator, six U-shaped copper heatpipes, each of 6 mm in diameter, and two sections of aluminium plates of similar thickness. Pre-installed fans are running at different speeds. One turns with intensity of 1300 r / min (22.6 dB noise), the other — in the range from 900 to 1500 rev / min (21,4-32,1 dB).

SilverStone Showcases a Pair of New Add-Ons to the Strider Gold S Series

SilverStone has recently replenished its production lineup with a pair of new power supply units. Codenamed Strider Gold SST-ST75F-GS and SST85F-GS, the couple has entered the award-winning Strider Gold S series. As seen from the codenames, the units are estimated for 750 W and 850 W power correspondingly. Thanks to the incorporation of unprecedented features and some 90% efficiency, the products has picked up 80Plus Gold award.

The Strider Gold S new-comers feature a totally modular design and are developed in ATX form-factor. They are equipped with a single +12V bus. The latter is able to ensure the maximal performance for a gaming system, due to the maximal current of 62/70 A for the junior and senior models respectively.

It should be noted that SST-ST75F-GS and SST85F-GS correspond to all actual security standards. As a result, the units support voltage stabilization features (in the range of ± 3%), as well as vibration-proof and noise reduction features. This …
