Spam Modifications and Its Activity Level in 2012

‘Kaspersky Lab’ company, known for the development and distribution of information security programs, has recently published a report dedicated to the spam-system activity for the past quarter of 2012. The report contains the statistical data in percentages about the spammer activity in different parts of the world. The 3% reduction of e-mail spam level is considered to be the most advantageous aspect in the report. However, the extension of the spammer activity geography is considered to be the least advantageous aspect in the whole report. The extension brought to the substantial increase of the Internet trash in separate regions.

Galax Shows One of the Tiniest External Video Cards Enclosures Holding GeForce GTX 1060

During the last Computex event, the Galax vendor exhibited its external graphics card version. As distinguished from most other manufacturers, showing dock stations for GPUs, Galax displayed the ready-assembled device, which is so small that you can take it to be a mini PC.

The product is called Galax SNPR External Graphics Card Enclosure. It has already been equipped with the GeForce GTX 1060 graphics accelerator, which is more likely than not built on a special printed circuit board with the express aim of being utilized in such a dock unit.

To minimize the ready-made solution dimensions to the greatest possible extent Galaxy elected not to install an internal power supply. The product is powered by a 45 W outer unit. On the back side of SNPR External Graphics Card Enclosure one can notice DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPort connectors, alongside with Thunderbolt 3, enabling users to link this device to a computer. On the front panel there’s a power button, which indicates when …

IBM, Intel, AMD, Cray, HPE and NVIDIA Have Been Awarded a Grant for Exaflop Supercomputer Development

The most effective supercomputer is launched in China today. The system, called Sunway TaihuLight, operates locally developed processors. The ultimate Sunway TaihuLight productivity is 125 petaflops. In 2020 China plans to generate the first system in the world with a capacity overcoming one exaflops. At present the USA stays behind, however American supercomputers’ energy performance is significantly higher.

The US Department of Energy has established a $258 million grant for cost effective exaflop supermachines construction. Six American companies (IBM, Intel, AMD, Cray, HPE and NVIDIA) won it. Now they are to create an architecture, able to consume 25–30 MW at one exaflop productiveness. Such a system’s deployment is to take place in 2021. Apart from funds committed, each member company of the Exascale Computing Project program will put up its own means, constituting around 40% of DOE’s funds. Thus, the project cost will increase to $430 mln. In return, developers …
