Dell Inspiron 24 7000: an All-in-One PC with a Difference

Dell has recently introduced a 24-inch all-in-one PC, entitled Inspiron 24 7000. The new-comer is vestured into a sleek case that mimics a standard display. Nonetheless, its functionality does not yield to a traditional desktop computer. Such framework provides for a better ergonomics and adds trimness to the workplace.

Dell Inspiron 24 7000 is based on Intel Core i5-6300HQ (Intel Skylake) CPU, operating at 2.3 GHz frequency with the possibility to overclock to 3.2 GHz index. It is mated with 12 GB DDR4-2133 MHz RAM and 4 GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 940M graphics (with integrated GDDR3). Storage subsystem is represented by 1 TB hard disk drive as well as 32 GB mSATA solid-state drive.

The multi-touch display is based on IPS panel, featuring 1920x1080 Full HD resolution. It is furnished with inbuilt Waves MaxxAudio speakers, frontal Intel RealSense webcam with a microphone, DVD SuperMini drive, and network connectors: Bluetooth 4.0, Ethernet & Wi-Fi 802.11n.

Intel Claims Its Clover Trail More Efficient than Tegra 3

The stonewall in the tablet and mobile CPU segment is gradually mounting, with Intel and Nvidia increasing their influence and rivalry. Hence, Intel's developers claim that its latest tablet processor, two-core Atom Clover Trail, surpasses Nvidia's Tegra 3 in both performance and power consumption. To be precise, Clover Trail proves to be more efficient in a range of applications, but at the same time, it consumes power twice less than its counterpart. To exemplify such claims, Intel takes Imagination Technologies graphics that consumes less power than Tegra 3.

Numerous testing results conducted by Intel and some leading IT analysts demonstrate that Tegra 3 with four main cores and one additional core is slower that Clover Trail. Testing of performance and power consumption has been held on Microsoft Surface RT with Tegra 3 chip and Windows 8 tablet with Clover Trail chip. Nevertheless, Intel hasn't conducted any comparison in mobile OS from Google.

Scythe Showcases Asymmetric Byakko CPU Cooler

Scythe, a well-known Japanese manufacturer of cooling solutions, is about to release an uncommon CPU cooler. Entitled Byakko, the Tower model features an asymmetric design: an aluminum heatsink is superseded backwards against the nickel-plated base; such framework ensures an ideal compatibility of the cooler with high RAM modules. Moreover, the item is only 130-mm high, so it can fit any PC case.

Scythe Byakko is reconcilable with the majority of modern platforms, including Intel Socket LGA 1366/115x/775 & AMD Socket FM1/FM2/FM2+/aM2/AM2+/AM3/AM3+. The cooler accommodates three nickel-plated 6-mm heat pipes, replenished by a single 92-mm fan. The Scythe Slip Stream 92 PWM is based on a sleeve bearing. Thanks to the PWM support, the fan is able to rotate within 300-2300 RPM range. Therewith, the maximal noise level does not surpass the margin of 28.26 dBA (the minimal index is 7.2 dBA).

The model is able to produce 6.70-46.55 CFM airflow, depending on the rotational speed. …
