Fractal Design has announced Define R4 hull

In nearly two years after the announcement of the hull Define R3, Fractal Design Company announced the release of its ideological successor. New, executed in the same minimalist style, has received the designation Define R4.

The hull is designed to install motherboard sizes ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ATX, and eight expansion cards. Define R4 design provides for two external 5.25-inch bay size, as well as ten internal, eight — to set the size 3.5-inch HDD, two — for the installation of SSD size 2.5 inches.

As the creators say, inside Define R4 can be used CPU coolers up to 170 cm, power supplies up to 270 cm, and graphics up to 295 or 430 mm (respectively, with basket for the HDD, and without it). As for the cooling system, it involves the installation of up to seven fans: two front, one rear, two top, one bottom and one side. The package includes two fans Silent Series R2, front and rear. Both are characterized by a diameter of 140 mm and speed 1000 r / min. Interestingly, …

Aerocool Updates Several Mainstream PSU Lineups

Aerocool expands its mainstream- and budget-oriented PSU lineups with a batch of new models. Notably, it replenishes such series as VP, VX, and KCAS to satisfy the needs of a wider public. Without doubt, all greenhorns absolutely comply with the company’s best practices implemented within design and performance frameworks.

Hence, Aerocool VP, the most affordable series in the inventory, has been refilled with three models of 850 W, 1000 W and 1200 W power. They are distinguished by the integration of a single +12V rail, support for the Intel Haswell platform, and compliance with C6 and C7 idle states. All units are estimated for 120 thousand hours of foolproof operation, providing up to 84% efficiency in a wide range of workload. Their other peculiar feature is absence of 80Plus certification.

The VX series has been replenished with two low-power PSUs of 400 W and 500 W power. Their ultimate power on +12V rails makes up 324 W and 456 W correspondingly. Both models are …

NZXT to Launch a New Line of Powerful PSUs

Developers from NZXT decided to revive a series of prime power supply units, codenamed HALE90, launched in 2010 by designing a new line of powerful units. The line has been entitled HALE90 V2 and includes three models of 850W, 1000W, and 1200W power. All three models are notable by the availability of 80Plus Gold certificate that verifies their high-performance and reliability.

Unlike the majority of similar products, HALE90 V2 are housed in casings of white color with black insertions that add some elegance to the overall design. The units are characterized by a totally modular cabling (including 24-pin ATX connector); this is called to dramatically simplify the accomplishment of individual wire sheath on modding. One of the peculiarities of this PSU line is rigid connection of the mainboard with the cable board, while the majority of rival PSUs employ flexible wires.

Voltage 12V generation is realized by means of a single rail. The platform is developed according to …
