External RAID-boxes by Sharkoon company for five and eight HDD

SHARKOON company has presented new and more powerful external boxes for the installation

of five and eight 2.5 — or 3.5-inch hard drives with interface SATA I / II / III. The model

SHARKOON 5-Bay RAID-Station allows the organization of RAID-arrays on 0/1/3/5/10 levels,

and at SHARKOON 8-Bay RAID-Station the support of RAID 00/30/50 is realized. The 8-Bay

RAID Station supports such memory modes: Clone, Large, Clean/Single.



It doesn’t matter where such models of raid-boxes are used. It can be a home collection or office equipment, still the product will show its effectiveness. Both products are available in black, made ​of steel SECC, have a plastic front panel, is cooled by a 120-millimeter fan and can be connected via USB 3.0 port or eSATA. The configuration of the RAID modes is done quickly and easily through the DIP switch located on the backside of the case.

SCION-32 Combines a PC and a Monitor in Itself

The E-BLUE company has introduced an interesting solution at the CES 2017 exhibition in Las Vegas, called SCION-32. This is the first Hybrid-Tower monitor and simultaneously an AIO computer with prospects for upgrading.



This 32-inch product has a QHD 2,560 × 1,440 pixels resolution and is backlit on the sides.


The SCION-32 system allows to install Micro-ATX and Mini-ATX motherboards with a respective CPU. There is enough space for two standard drives. The maximum length of the discrete graphics to be used is unknown, however we can assume, that there will be no problem with choosing an optimal variant, taking into account the abundance of video adapters on the market.


This device will be available this quarter, though the price has not been voiced yet.

Asus Showcases a Multi-Feature PB279Q Monitor

The first 4K Ultra HD monitors cost a pretty penny for real enthusiasts. Sometimes the price tag approximated several thousand dollars! Asus PB279Q is powered by a high-quality IPS array with a 10-bit color mapping depth. It ensures the widest possible viewing angles (178/178 degrees), 100% color gamut in sRGB environment, and 5 ms response time. The latter allows for the prime imaging in action games and movies. The display features 16:9 aspect ratio and 3840x2160 pixels resolution on DisplayPort/mini-DisplayPort connection. Moreover, thanks to the implementation of WLED, the model consumes less power on high workload.
