Xilence Company has presented a kilowatt power supply unit of XQ series

Taiwanese company Xilence released two PSU of unusual design — XQ Series of 750 and 850 W capacities. In contrast to usual offers on the market, these PSU are equipped with a pair of 60-mm fans. It has separate adjustment of speed and can operate in a completely passive mode at a load of up to 20-30%.

Recently, Xilence added to the above-mentioned series a power supply with nominal 1000W. New model in the pre-sale testing was certified with 80 Plus Platinum, which indicates the level of efficiency from 90% to 94% in the system of 230 V. Like its predecessors, the unit uses a modular principle of cabling, active power factor correction mechanism and complies with ATX12V v2.3 and EPS12V v2.92 standards. The list of available power cables (connectors) is the following: 4x PCI-E 6-pin, 4x PCI-E (6 + 2)-pin, 7x Molex 4-pin, FDD, 12x SATA, EPS12V (4 +4)-pin, EPS12V 8-pin and ATX (20 +4)-pin.

Five-year warranty on the Xilence XQ 1000W provides the possibility of replacement the …

Deepcool Intros Dual-Fan GamerStorm Assassin II CPU Cooler

Deepcool Industries comes out with the second revision of Assassin CPU cooler. The GamerStorm Assassin II is a dual-fan solution intended for hard-core users with thirst for utmost performance and noiseless operation. The model is compatible with most of AMD and Intel platforms, including AM2/AM2+/AM3/AM3+/FM1/FM2/FM2+ & LGA 775/1150/1155/1156/1366/2011/2011-v3.

Featuring 167x158x143 mm dimensions, the new-comer complies with all up-to-date requirements for high-end PC builds. Its framework comprises two aluminum heatsink blocks, consisting of 48 fins which are connected by means of eight nickel-plated heatpipes (6 mm each).

This cooler comes with two integrated fans, both based on fluid-dynamic bearing. The first 140 mm model is able to rotate at 300-1200 RPM with the maximal produced airflow of 70.08 CFM; it noise level fluctuates between 17.8-27.3 dB range. The second 120 mm fan might accelerate up to 1400 RPM, producing 68.06 CFM airflow and 27.3 dB noise.

HIS Teases New Radeon R9 280X IceQ Boost Clock Graphics Card

HIS is glad to introduce one more high-end solution: the Radeon R9 280X IceQ Boost Clock graphics card that is targeting high-performance PC systems. The model employs turbine-type cooling system with a branded IceQ cooler. It consists of a voluminous copper base (35x28 mm), an aluminum heatsink, four nickel-plated heat-pipes (2x 8 mm and 2x 6 mm), as well as a single 80 mm turbine fan. Such cooling is ideal for multi-GPU configurations in AMD CrossFireX mode, since the distance between adapters does not influence the efficiency of their fans.

The new-comer is based on AMD Radeon R9 280X GPU (28 nm, GCN) with 2048 stream processors. It runs at standard frequencies: 850 MHz – nominal and 1000 MHz – dynamic. Memory is introduced by 3 GB GDDR5 modules, which run at standard 1500 MHz frequencies and reach some 6000 MHz effective index.

To continue, HIS Radeon R9 280X IceQ Boost Clock features four connectivity interfaces: a pair of mini-DisplayPort ports, one DVI-I and …
