Next year TSMC will start manufacturing the first 20nm chips

The Taiwanese company TSMC confirmed its intention to start production of chips using 20 nm technological processes in 2013. However, for now the company does not plan its production on an industrial scale and will release the first chips in a limited quantities, giving them a total of 1% of production capacity. According to the head of the company, the mass production of semiconductor chips with this technology will not begin until 2014.

Meanwhile TSMC Company is going to produce only one version of the chip, which will be able to enter into the wide range of devices, from smart phones with low-power to high-performance graphics cards. For comparison, the Taiwanese company currently has four different output chips on 28-nm technology. Kingston Showcases New SSDNow KC300 Series

Kingston Digital, an established developer and supplier of highly efficient storage solutions, has officially introduced its new line of solid-state drives that entered SSDNow series. Entitled KC300, this line is targeted at a vast audience, starting from corporate clients and finishing with average customers. KC300 includes five models of 60 GB, 120 GB, 180 GB, 240 GB, and 480 GB capacities. According to Kingston, the new entries are supposed to substitute the two preceding SSD lines: Kingston KC100 and Kingston V+200.

SSDs KC300 are designed in 2.5-inch form-factor and feature SATA III 6 Gb/sec interface. LSI SandForce SF-2281 controller is the heart of each drive model. All items included in the series support DuraClass, DuraWrite, S.M.A.R.T. and RAISE technologies that substantially enhance their efficiency. Palit to Release GTX 780 JetStream 6 GB Graphics Card in a Few Days

Palit has officially claimed that a long-awaited kick-off of GeForce GTX 780 JetStream graphics card with 6 GB memory will take place in mid-April. The model is differentiated not only the doubled video memory capacity, but also by the incorporation of an offbeat three-slot cooling system and factory overclocking. The privileges offered by the card will be available for the customers with about €600 in their pockets.

Palit GeForce GTX 780 JetStream 6 GB is based on GK110-300-A1 GPU with 2304 CUDA cores, 48 ROPs, and 192 TMUs. The core operates at the basic 902 MHz frequency, still it might be overclocked to 954 MHz level. The implemented GDDR5 modules employ 384-bit bus and run at an effective 6 GHz frequency (1.5 GHz nominal index).
