Official Release of MSI Z87 XPower Motherboard

After several weeks of rumors and speculations, MSI has finally released its Z87 XPower motherboard. MSI Z87 XPower, a flagship XL-ATX model in a series of Intel Haswell-compatible boards, is differentiated by a high-quality hardware base, enhanced overclocking facilities, and total support of numerous advanced technologies. According to MSI, CPU overclocking options are considered to be among the strongest aspects ascribed to the new-comer. With this aspect in mind, the company equipped its flagship board with the most powerful 32-phase power supply system.

This motherboard is compatible with the 4th generation processors from Intel, which support Socket LGA1150 platform. Being an advanced product, XPower accommodates an increased amount of expansion slots: five PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots and a pair of PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots. Such assembly allows for operating with up to four graphics cards simultaneously in AMD CrossFireX or Nvidia SLI configurations. The board also saves …

The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Graphics Card Has Much In Common With Titan X, but Holds More Elements

Several days ago Nvidia has introduced its most effective consumer graphics card, namely GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. It is GP102 GPU based and holds 3,584 CUDAs. This device resembles the Titan X sample. Its graphics engine is the same, however, the number of ROP units (96) is higher, the memory bus (384 bits) is wider, the memory volume (12 GB) is bigger, frequencies are higher, and the price is much lower!

As it turned out, GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is produced with a PC-board of its high-end counterpart, but there are differences in electronic components. Thus, the power subsystem has been refined due to the duplicated quantity of MOSFET transistors. Now it is possible to overclock the adapter to higher frequencies. GTX 1080 Ti has got nine extra solid capacitors. The absence of a DVI port provides more vents on the back panel.

In general, for public users this product almost copies the more expensive Titan X model and at the same time can be more productive in games.

Greeting PowerColor Radeon R9 290X New-Generation Graphics Cards

PowerColor has officially introduced a pair of high-efficiency graphics cards developed on the new-generation Radeon R9 290X series adapters. Codenamed PowerColor Radeon R9 290X, both new-comers support the latest graphics technologies, i.e. DirectX 11.2 and OpenGL 4.2. The models feature a totally identical design, still there is one differentiation: one of the models is equipped with a key to Battlefield 4 game. Such ‘bonus’ has resulted in a bit heightened price of $580, if compared with the standard model that costs $550.

Both cards are based on AMD Hawaii XT chip. It has been dynamically overclocked by PowerColor to 1030 MHz, whereas the nominal clock frequency remained the same – 800 MHz. In order to enhance the performance, the GPU has been supplemented with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory with 512-bit interface that runs at 5000 MHz.

To proceed with the specifications, both graphics adapters accommodate four rear video ports (HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI-I, and DVI-D). …
