PSU Gigabyte GreenMax Plus 550W Review

Gigabyte, being one of the major players in the motherboards and graphics markets, quite rarely replenishes its production line with PC chassis and power supply units. Rarely, but right on target! Its GreenMax Plus PSU series is an evidence of the company’s versatile maturity. The series includes three models of 450W, 550W and 650W power. Let’s see what Gigabyte has to offer to all ‘high-fed’ by multiple products customers by the example of GreenMax Plus 550W (codename: GZ-EMS55A-C1) model.



General Features


The GreenMax Plus 550W is delivered in a handheld cardbox with a convenient holder. The unit itself is housed in a typical case with a black semi-gloss coating and a large ventilation grid. All basic specifications are marked on its side facet. The manufacturers claim the power of 504W (42A) for the +12VDC bus. SCION-32 Combines a PC and a Monitor in Itself

The E-BLUE company has introduced an interesting solution at the CES 2017 exhibition in Las Vegas, called SCION-32. This is the first Hybrid-Tower monitor and simultaneously an AIO computer with prospects for upgrading.



This 32-inch product has a QHD 2,560 × 1,440 pixels resolution and is backlit on the sides.


The SCION-32 system allows to install Micro-ATX and Mini-ATX motherboards with a respective CPU. There is enough space for two standard drives. The maximum length of the discrete graphics to be used is unknown, however we can assume, that there will be no problem with choosing an optimal variant, taking into account the abundance of video adapters on the market.


This device will be available this quarter, though the price has not been voiced yet.

SilentiumPC Launches a Sleek Gladius M35 Pure Black Chassis

SilentiumPC, a renowned designer of top-notch coolers & other hardware components, enters the market with a new creation – a mid-tower chassis, entitled Gladius M35 Pure Black. As the name implies, the case, featuring 486x502x200 mm dimensions, boasts purely black exterior and interior layout. The retail price makes up $55.



SilentiumPC Gladius M35 Pure Black is targeting as mini-ITX so full-format ATX systems. The chassis is made of a high-quality Japanese steel with matted coating as well as ABS plastic. The front panel is distinguished by a perforated finish. The top facet accommodates I/O panel with USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and 3.5 mm audio ports.


The internal layout is estimated for the installation of two 5.25-inch drives, four 3.5-inch drives, and a pair of 2.5-inch drives. All bays are equipped with a dedicated anti-vibration system.
