Akasa Prepares Its Euler for Upcoming Release

Recent global IT exhibition Computex 2012 has given promising prospects for Akasa company that introduced its new brand chassis. Codenamed Euler, this chassis might serve the basis for the noiseless mini-PCs. Due to the implementation of aluminum casing in design and its simultaneous substitute of a radiator, this device is able to function along with passive cooling system.

Akasa representatives have provided the Internet community with the first shots of Euler. Those pictures demonstrate that the future product will consist of a block which will remove the excessive heat from the CPU and its surrounding components. The model will support devices which show up to 35W TDP index. This chassis will be compatible with motherboards of mini-ATX form-factor and low-capacity two-core processors.

According to the words of the company's representatives, Euler is going to be released this September. The price policy has not been voiced so far, but hardware specialists are certain …

Intel to Release CPU Avoton in Late 2013

Intel is known to develop CPU solutions for different types of systems, including home-based compact platforms, as well as corporate server systems. Not so long ago the company announced the decision to introduce its new solution for micro-servers, codenamed Bordenville, which is based on Centerton CPU. A new platform is going to provide good performance characteristics in combination with multifarious facilities. Still, Intel decided to move on and improve the platform for this segment by a more efficient product. Under the preliminary data, the company is going to develop another platform, codenamed Edisonville, based on Avoton processor.

According to the forecasts, Intel Avoton will be able to demonstrate a better performance per watt, as compared with Centerton or Haswell CPUs. Avoton will be notable for the integration of USB, SATA and GbE facilities; thus, the platform will accommodate a couple of SATA III ports, two SATA II ports, four USB 2.0, and four gigabit Ethernet …

PSU Seasonic X-1250 SS-1250XM Review

Power supply unit Seasonic X-1250 is a senior product of X series that includes units from 400W to 1250W power. The two junior models are absolutely passive, while all other models feature hybrid cooling schedule. This implies that on conditions of little loading, the integrated fan stops its operation; and vice versa, when the loading is increasing, the fan's operation is more intense. PSU X-1250 is quite powerful to serve the needs of high-performance systems that require stable and efficient power to all key components.

Basic Features

Power supply unit Seasonic X-1250 is delivered in a spacious cardbox which contains a set of cables for the connection of PC components. The unit is housed in a dull black casing with stamped yellowish grid. The whole construction is 190 mm in length (+20 mm for cable connectors), so it won't suit compact-sized PC chassis. All basic specifications are indicated on the casing: the availability of +12VDC line that demonstrates 1248W power at …
