Acer Debuts with Three New All-in-One PCs: Aspire U5-610, Z3-610 and Z3-105

Acer, a well-known designer of displays and PCs, has introduced three new models of all-in-one PCs within the boundaries of IFA 2013. Codenamed Aspire U5-610, Aspire Z3-610 and Aspire Z3-105, the triple features 23-inch sensor monitors, which support Full HD resolution (1920x1080) and run under Windows 8 OS. All three new-comers distinguish themselves by a stylish design and some innovative functions.

The first model under consideration, Acer Aspire U5-610, is a contemporary all-in-one solution intended for home use. It is peculiar by a futuristic design, as well as a whole range of useful facilities. Next year TSMC will start manufacturing the first 20nm chips

The Taiwanese company TSMC confirmed its intention to start production of chips using 20 nm technological processes in 2013. However, for now the company does not plan its production on an industrial scale and will release the first chips in a limited quantities, giving them a total of 1% of production capacity. According to the head of the company, the mass production of semiconductor chips with this technology will not begin until 2014.

Meanwhile TSMC Company is going to produce only one version of the chip, which will be able to enter into the wide range of devices, from smart phones with low-power to high-performance graphics cards. For comparison, the Taiwanese company currently has four different output chips on 28-nm technology. ARM Readies Cortex-A72 and Mali-T880 for Mobile Devices

ARM has just announced a series of solutions for the upcoming next-generation mobile SoC. The most notable developments are Cortex-A72 processor and Mali-T880 graphics. According to the manufacturer, both components will be interconnected within SoC by means of CoreLink – CCI-500. The launch of new items is scheduled for 2016. Rockchip, MediaTek and HiSilicon are among the companies to integrate both elaborations into their products.

It should be noted that Cortex- A72 is a successor of Cortex-A57, taking analogous 64-bit operations but demonstrating three times higher performance. The new-comer will be designed under 16 nm FinFET+ technological process. Its layout corresponds to big.LITTLE framework requirements; this promotes for its combination with other ARM cores.
