Greeting Brand New GTX 980 Ti Poseidon Platinum Videocard from Asus

Following in-house traditions of success, Asus has developed a new graphics card on the basis of a renowned GeForce GTX 780 Ti Poseidon model. The GeForce GTX 980 Ti Poseidon Platinum boasts an original design, seasoned with factory overclocking and a hybrid cooling system. The new-comer is thought to satisfy the needs of high-performance systems with powerful CPUs and multitasking environment. Pricing is unknown so far.

Asus GeForce GTX 980 Ti Poseidon Platinum is based on Nvidia GK110 GPU (Kepler), equipped with 2880 CUDA cores, 48 ROPs and 240 TMUs. All system components are soldered on an offbeat black PCB with PCI Express 3.0 x16 interface. The card features a reinforced power supply subsystem that is designed according to 10-phase configuration with the employment of Super Alloy Power components.

The connection with the PSU is realized through a pair of 8-pin sockets. The maximal TDP level does not go beyond 250 W. The interface panel consists of DL DVI-I, three …

AMD Readies a Pair of Power-Efficient Desktop Processors

The Internet community is engrossed in a lively debate about the upcoming release of two new Richland desktop processors from AMD. The company has not made any official claims yet, however MSI marked the pair as an appropriate match for some of its new motherboards. Those Richland CPUs, which has already been launched by AMD, proved to be rather power-efficient, featuring 65 W and 100 W TDP level. But new entries – AMD A8-6500T and AMD A10-6700T – are thought to receive 45 W TDP package.

Upon the whole, AMD Richland processors position themselves as affordable, efficient and reliable solutions that can be employed for the assembling of systems with moderate or heightened demands. Some CPU models might be even used for the assembling of gaming systems. However, along with high performance, Richland processors are rather power-efficient; this makes them an ideal choice for home-based and corporate-class PC platforms.

As for the announced models, their specifications are …

Graphics Adapter Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost with Modified Frequencies

Taking the lead from a number of Nvidia’s partners, Gigabyte has launched its own sample piece of GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost graphics adapter. It is differentiated primarily by modified GPU and memory frequencies, as well as by an improved PCB design. The latter employs Ultra Durable 2 technology that stipulates the implementation of high-quality hardware components, including ferrite chokes, solid-state capacitors, and Low RDS Mosfets transistors with reduced resistance on mode changes.

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost is based on GK106 GPU, developed under 28 nm technological process. Its nominal frequency has been increased from the reference 980 MHz to 1033 MHz, while its dynamic frequency has been changed from 1032 MHz to 1098 MHz. This graphics adapter is furnished with 1 GB of GDDR5 memory, which clock frequencies have been, vice versa, lowered: nominal index dropped from 1502 MHz to 1250 MHz, dynamic index dropped from 6008 MHz to 5000 MHz.
