SilverStone Comes Out with Precision PS12 Chassis

The lineup of tower cases developed by SilverStone has been replenished by a new price-efficient solution, entitled Precision PS12. The model features 405x360x170 mm dimensions and is ready to accommodate small-sized motherboards (mini-ITX, micro-ATX) as well as four expansion cards. The chassis is made of high-quality plastic, supplemented by a fine-meshed metallic grid on the front panel.

Inside, there is a single rack for the installation of optical drives; it’s estimated for two 5.25-inch units. There is also space for 4x 3.5-inch drives and 1x 2.5-inch drive. Hence, there is little space for graphics adapters, the length of which should not exceed 358 mm. The layout is intended for 140-mm high CPU coolers & standard ATX PS/2 power supply units.

SilverStone Precision PS12 is shipped with a single preinstalled 120-mm fan (front panel). Additionally, it’s possible to include one 80-mm fan (front panel) and one 80-/92-mm fan (rear panel). Pricing is set at $45.

WD to Release 6 TB Purple HDD

WD Purple, a much talked-of series of hard drives, has been replenished with a new 6 TB model. Similar to its comrades, this HDD is intended for CCTV systems. The new-comer is developed in 3.5-inch form-factor and equipped with 64 MB cache. This provides for the simultaneous interaction with 32 high-definition cameras in 24/7 operational mode.

WD Purple 6 TB is thought to support the following vital technologies:

— Advanced Format Technology (AFT) allows increasing data density on writing.

— AllFrame – if used jointly with data streaming commands via ATA bus, this technology allows eliminating the possibility of omitting the frames, due to the implementation of a unique cache management algorithm. It also supports micro-programs which help in preventing pixelization and undesirable pauses in video recording.

— IntelliSeek helps in defining the most optimal search speed, depending on the current loading. It also reduces power consumption, noise level and …

MSI Announces Middle-End Graphics Card N770 TF 4GD5/OC

MSI announces one more representative of MSI Gaming series – a middle-end graphics solution, based on GeForce GTX 770 adapter. Codenamed N770 TF 4GD5/OC, the new-comer boasts an original design, the availability of factory overclocking, the implementation of a brand cooling system, called Twin Frozr IV, and high-quality Military Class IV components. This model is targeting those users who would like to equip their PC systems with up-dated, reliable and high-yield components.

MSI N770 TF 4GD5/OC takes GK104 chip as the basis of its operation. This chip is developed under 28 nm Kepler microarchitecture with 1536 CUDA cores. Clock frequencies in OC mode exceed those performed by the reference model and make up 1137 MHz in nominal mode, increasing to 1189 MHz on dynamic overclocking. GK104 is accompanied by 4 GB of GDDR5 memory with 256-bit interface; memory modules operate at 1752 MHz frequency in nominal mode and at 7010 MHz on overclocking.
